Match 19579 SCP-073 vs. Superman

Macklemore

As the night fell over New York City, the commonly bustling Central Park was eerily quiet. There was a tense anticipation in the air, as if something significant was about to unfold. Positioned at opposite ends of the park, it was there where SCP-073 and Superman stood 500 feet apart. But this was no friendly stand-off. The normally composed Superman was curiously on edge, his eyes scanning his unknown opponent. Meanwhile, SCP-073 was focused, its gaze locked firmly onto the Man of Steel.

SCP-073, also known as "Cain", had been dispatched with explicit orders from the SCP Foundation: eliminate the Kryptonian.

Without a warning, Cain broke into a sprint, his strange physique highlighting his non-human origins. Surprisingly agile and swift, the entity closed the gap between them rapidly. Superman, who was accustomed to combating opponents quickly, found himself caught off guard. With no prior knowledge of this adversary's capabilities, Superman had to rely purely on his exceptional strength, speed, and instincts.

Meanwhile, back at SCP Foundation Headquarters, the staff watched the live feed with anxiety, their scientific curiosity engaged. Would a being as powerful as Superman be able to intervene in their world of clandestine threats, and could SCP-073, despite the handicap of not using his magic eyes, neutralize this alien power?

Despite his apprehension, the Man of Steel held his ground as Cain neared. When SCP-073 was in range, Superman launched, his fist colliding with the creature's face. Yet, instead of the usual satisfying impact, Superman felt a jarring pain shoot through his fist. SCP-073 had an anomalous property that whatever wounds he suffer, the damage is reflected back upon his attacker. This wasn't a typical foe; Superman had to tread carefully.

Finding a new approach, Superman began using his speed, skill, and environment to his advantage. He darted around Cain, throwing and toppling objects to slow the SCP's pursuit. But Cain was relentless, unphased by Superman's strategy.

At the SCP headquarters, worry marked the faces of the scientists, as Superman's tactics appeared ineffective. They had hoped the alien's superior strength would have given him an edge over SCP-073, but Cain's reflective abilities had evened the playing field.

Back in the park, Superman's initial vigor began to wane as he struggled to strategize a new plan of action. Realization dawned on him - this fight was not about raw power but strategy, and he'd have to use his intelligence to outwit this opponent.

Leaping over the tops of trees, Superman disappeared from Cain's sight. He then dove under the ground, resurfacing with a chunk of the earth, creating a blinding cloud of dust and debris. Using this momentary distraction, Superman swiftly grabbed Cain from behind, rendering him unable to inflict direct harm on Superman. But before he could further immobilize the SCP, Cain used his own strength to counter-attack, throwing Superman back with surprising force.

The scientists in the control room watched with bated breath. If even Superman struggled, could they ever hope to control such an SCP effectively?

As the dust settled, both opponents stood at a standstill once more, each taking in the other's capabilities and planning their next moves. They both knew this was far from over, and the real battle was only just beginning.

Hmm, ... good set-up, Macklemore, if a little on the short side. Pretty good story and good match-up with Superman fighting an opponent that can reflect the pain and damage from his attacks.

As for the match, my initial thought was that Superman could maybe outlast SCP-073, since he's still so much stronger than the cyborg and could likely take the impact of his own blows better than SCP could. But then I see that the cyborg's damage-reflecting power is likely magic-based ...

Gotta think on this one.
