Laying low is something John is more than capable of doing. It should be relatively easy for him to avoid the much larger and less dedicated to killing him monsters compared to the Terminators he is used to.

If a group of scientists can survive, surely the leader of the resistance can.

Again I must remind folks that laying low on Monster Island isn’t as easily as they might think. Any caves or other forms of cover would be danger of collapsing due to the frequent earthquakes and rockslides that the island experiences daily. I should also remind y’all that monsters like Kamacuras and Gorosaurus do actively hunt humans so John will be in constant danger from that too.

Ultimately what really works against John is that he’s never had to handle a situation by himself, he almost always has a team or backup come in and save in. Be it his mother, Kyle Reese, the T-800, Marcus Wright from Salvation or even his wife Kate Brewer. The sad fact is that John Connor only really succeeds when he’s part of a team and I think being all by himself on the island eventually his brashness and his temper will get him killed.
