I can't find anything for Kyuzo, but here's a respect thread for Shishio. I need at least some help about what Kyuzo is capable of to debate this.

So Kyuzo is one of the Seven Samurai chosen to defeat the giant robots that take the poor villagers food every year. When he’s first introduced in the series he battles the top samurai who we’ve seen win every fight handily up till now. Kyuzo beats the top samurai. I’ll link a video below, fights starts around 1:39.

Later in the series the head samurai has been bested by one of the fleets giant robots. He’s bleeding and it’s an “all hope is lost” scenario for the samurai. Just then Kyuzo swoops in and easily disassembles the robot by slicing it up. Starts around 1:32
