  1. Props for picking the computer IKA. Not sure on the fight, I’ll come and look later.
  2. I will rep i will repost if the scenario substantially alters the setup. Not sure if that would change things much.
  3. I cannot see the scenario, just the word “therapy.” I’ll say that Fezziwig is great at getting folks cheerful. His party is one of Scrooge’s only happy memories and he was a source of complete joy. Fezziwig would have maybe gotten Scrooge on a different path, had he been with him a bit longer. He’s very other centered, and wants to draw in as many people and leave them with as much joy as possible. His outlook matches pretty reasonably with Beetlejuice, methinks. Beetlejuice likes a good party. He likes to have a good time. I could see him living it up with Fezziwig, then deciding having a good time at Xmas is easier than having to chase out living people. I think in that sense he would be rehabilitated.
  4. Arthur is probably just outclassed here. Road Runner is really good at making the best plans blow up in Wil E.’s face. His toon force is practically a way of giving others bad luck. Think of Wil E painting a wall for the Road Runner to run into, only for him to speed off into the distance. Not sure in terms of video game mechanics translating to the fight itself, but I don’t think he can keep up either way. Arthur probably tried one trick, then the road runner speeds away, never to be seen. Throw in home field and I think it’s just a tough pull for Arthur.
  5. Pretty tight overall, lot of teams in the 20 & 30 pt.
  6. I think my mind is made up for Po because he can win the following ways: -submission -cartoon antics confusing the predator enough he gets away -predator decides hunting Po isn’t worth it because Po’s a lazy dude -Predator decides to not hunt him because Po’s too powerful The predator wins only if: -we count him deciding to hunt after po asks him not to as a win.
  7. I think if he’s incapacitated, or If he’s dead, he’s convinced. Even in the Elmer Fudd scenario, Fudd still comes after Bugs, he’s just momentarily bamboozled. By that logic, I’m sure Po can just hoodwink the Predator, bound away and win by the same logic. We’ll have to agree to disagree on spine-ripping. I think it’s pretty inconsistent with the Predators’ combat feats in general.
  8. People are assuming communication isn’t happening. If Poe leaves him as a big pile o’ green goo, then he has pretty well convinced the predator not to hunt. my point is that people shouldn’t be arguing things that are ancillary— such as Batman’s grapple gun, or Preds ripping spines— as baseline feats. These aren’t how they perform in combat, and I don’t think they should be used in good faith. Predators aren’t displaying the level of strength that the spine-tearing feat suggests. The same logic applies to Mortal Kombat fatalities. Subzero isn’t strong enough to rip out spines left and right, but does it in a specific context. Either way, Po is powerful enough to speak the language of fists. The Predator will eventually understand that.
  9. Preds ripping spines feels like Batman using the grapple. Batman would need to be super humanely strong to hold the grapple without it ripping his arm off, but Batman uses a grapple so everyone just lets to go because it’s cool to see Batman grapple. What’s the easiest/most badass way to visualize Predators taking a proof of kill? Spine rip. in other words, creative shorthand doesn’t always have to 1:1 account for direct capabilities of the character. Writers aren’t experts in stuff, mostly it’s to show stuff for the audience’s sake.
  10. In terms of that, Ella took half the children of the town the next year and has still been haunting the woods ever since. I think she took her initial revenge and keeps going. I don’t know what Frosty could offer in order to appease her in the way that The filmmakers have said that the creature in the 2016 movie isn’t Elly herself. I don’t know how Frosty could appeal to the witch, if he wanted.
  11. I think the key here is that they are securing funding. Both have the capability of inventing things like multiversal travel, but Atom is going to be better at getting scientists to work alongside him. Something like shrinking functioning cities down can solve so many issues: overcrowding, food shortages. Throw in something like Dwarf Star studies, and that is going to catch scientists’ eyes more than strict inventions designed to solve specific problems. Atom works as a liaison to the UN, so he’s already used to this sort of role of having to sell people on his science. Overall, I still feel Palmer has an advantage in terms of completing a project that will have far-ranging use and appeal.
  12. So the Atom is definitely the smarter/more accomplished scientist of the two. His work is in dwarf star power, which is how he became super powered in the first place. He’s renowned as one of the best physicists in the DCU as well. Given that, I think he has the ability to pull off something very innovative in a science fair format. Donatello’s inventions always strike me as very functional but sort of toony. Ray is more likely to come up with, say, a renewable energy source or some such. I also don’t think Donatello is well suited for the showmanship part of this, given that he’s the least outgoing of the group. Ray has some better flash (literally able to shrink to go through phones, etc) and I think would be able to sell another group of scientists better than Donatello. Ray served as the science liaison to SHADE, and developed a full Coty shrunk down to three inches to operate out of. He’s essentially the scientist the Justice League calls upon. he’s also developed technology and been able to travel between worlds at a quantum level. I think Ray just has a pedigree that is higher than Donatello when we’re looking at potential to develop something truly exciting in a scientific community.
  13. I don’t really think the Blair Witch has much of corporeal form Frosty can appeal to. This should be a win for the Blair Witch.
  14. The Margot Robbie Barbie is undone by the idea of death, and she is the composite version of Barbie. Barbie itself fits in a very neat, capitalist, consumer-driven structure. Silent Hill is the antithesis of all these things. Dig ‘Em is sugar and chaos, the exact kind of creature that would fit in with the sort of unearthly horror. If clientele are looking for these sort of real estate, I imagine Dig Em would be more what they want to see than Barbie. That’s why I think Dig Em fits.
  15. Except the real estate in question is exactly the kind that a frog monster would be better to sell. Someone isn’t approaching Barbie with this kind of thing, just the mention of death sends her into some sort of existential turbulence.
  16. The Aston Martin is at a huge disadvantage for having to refuel, blow out a tire, etc. it’s more durable than other cars, but Benny isn’t getting dinged by anything but the things that can damage toons. The Aston isn’t built for this kind of race. It’s gonna need to refuel a bunch and could give out.
  17. Dig ‘Em fits the aesthetic a bit of Silent Hill. Don’t they have those weird rabbit looking things? Either way, I think Dig ‘Em connects a bit better than Barbie. It’s a hard sell when you’re as far apart from the brand as SH and Barb
  18. You too, my friend! Took it down to the wire…I’m mostly okay with Benny. An aging and cranky cab is exactly what my team deserves and represents.
  19. Thanks for keeping it going IKA. I’ll have to stretch before playing in this one but it’s exciting to start a new fantasy raft.
  20. Just submitted. My team stinks but we’re in.
  21. Clarifying: this is Netflix Trevor vs Arrowverse Deathstroke in this fight?
  22. Weird that these two don't have a showdown in the comics, at least that I have seen.
  23. Very true, that would have been a really fun debate. Oh well.
  24. Yep, too bad we couldn’t get in for the final one. Good season everybody, and good luck!
  25. -Nope, gave you the full narration and scans of both fights. Dunno why we’re stuck on this point, but there’s not much more I can write. Bill disarmed Thor despite not having any powers. Thor gets a punch in and calls Bill “one of the mightiest mortals he has fought” then is probably going to win before he reverts back. Bill then beats him shortly thereafter in a rematch without Stormbreaker. They’ve fought evenly before, both have won, etc. -I don’t know why the guardians are Skyfather level. They look like they’re more fourth tier than on Odin’s level. Forcing one to sacrifice to defeat Doomsday is impressive, but not much greater than a herald. -He’s clearly using them to teleport things in the midst of combat and others. It’s a strategy he would use. -I think we’ve both made cases as well as we can. Argument either way is clear, just waiting on the vote.
