  1. Not sure when I'll play Bioshock though. Mass Effect looks like it'll never end. (not that I'm complaining).
  2. Haha. My only wish is that I could go see the matches live. But Brazil is a little too far away.
  3. I'm pretty sure Nintendo is doing all they can to lose customers. I haven't turned on my Wii in almos a year now. On other news, I bought Bioshock today.
  4. MEX! Man, what's up? I'm glad to hear someone else on the CBUB saw that match. Mexico could not be stopped! Not Neymar, not Oscar, not even Hulk could take down Mexico! That was a great game. As for the World Cup, yeah, Mexico has a good team (finally). Who knows how far they go? As long as they avoid Argentina, they'll go far.
  5. IT'S DA RETURN OF DAYOUTHGONEWILD! Anyways, set up was entertaining. No idea why Juggernaut wanted to fight Superman, but I'm glad to see Pseuod make a match. Also, about time someone used Cyborg. As for the match, as much as I loved Cyborg on Teen Titans, I've got to vote for the Juggernaut. The guy has some couple hundred pounds on Cyborg, not to mention his ridiculous invulnerability. He pops off Cyborg's head like a pez dispenser. Juggs ftw.
  6. Yeah, I realize you're a new guy, so I'm not going to grade this match. Having said that, your match is really completely one sided. Vegeta is pretty much capable of blowing up cities without even trying. Spider Carnage, while a strong foe for the average hero, is way out of his league. Vegeta would throw him around like a ragdoll. In future matches, try to keep the fighters closer to each other on terms of power. Best of luck and enjoy the CBUB.
  7. Also, a lot of these old guys used to post matches. It's true! People don't believe me, but I swear. Treacherous used to write CBUB matches!
  8. Huh. They all had their strengths, but I've got to stick with the CBUB I grew up with. I'm rooting for the Middle CBUB, after the fall of the old system but before the Creator's return. Amidst all that rubble, it was just a joy to write matches. Yeah, we had tons of problems. The threads "broke" if you quoted somebody wrong, there was multiaccounting through the roof, and my account got hacked and used to post a lot of porn. But hey. We dealt with it. Despite what the FPLrs will have you believe, the debates weren't always people drooling on their keyboards. Sometimes they were pretty intelligent and I learned a lot about pretty much every popular character. Also, back then you were limited in everything you did, so you really put some though into those set ups. I mean, back then you could only post a match like every three or five days with only one vs ones. Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but things were pretty cool. The simplicity was nice. But eh. That's not to say the new CBUB isn't cool. Heck, it blows the old system out of the water in terms of technology, layout, and what you can do. I guess I just miss knowing everyone and being able to crank out a match every three days.
  9. 1. The Marvel universe(take your pick at when you get inserted in the universe) Heh. Obviously, Starfox's control over emotions would get me ALL the super powered ladies. However, a much more practical power would be regeneration (like Hulk's or Wolverine). This is particularly useful because of how often aliens invade or heroes go to war or whatnot. Just surviving is a power. I guess maybe Darwin from Xmen's powers? The ability to evolve on the go? 2. The DC universe(take your pick at when you get inserted in the universe) Pretty similar to Marvel. Although Firestorm's ability to manipulate chemical bonds would be insanely awesome. However, without a doubt, having a Green Lantern ring would be the epitome of coolness for me. Traveling the Universe and stuff? 3. Any other fictional universe(s) of your choice. Uh... The Star Wars Universe? So I could run around slicing stuff with a lightsaber. 4. Real World Haha. Pretty much any power would make me happy in the real world. But Batman's power would be awesome (being born ridiculously rich). As would just being able to control technology. You could have a lot of fun with that. MARVEDIT: Real World Powers: 1. Shapeshifting 2. Flight 3. Teleportation 4. Technopathy 5. Regeneration
  10. Camden is easily the more dangerous city. All Gotham can do is maybe give you paper cut if you flip a splash page wrong. Camden is for real and it seems fairly danerous.
  11. Eh. I don't know how I feel about the Wasp's new image. It's from the new Avengers animated series. I'm sure we could use a better one from the comics. If its all okay with you Venom, I'll look for a comic book picture of her.
  12. Ha! Do you really think the Red King could do anything to the Silver Surfer? The Surfer was only a slave thanks to those electric slave devices they implanted into him. And they were only able to capture him after he passed through the warp hole. This hole depowered him greatly, and that's the only reason he was ever caught. Besides, the Red King never faced the Surfer. He was caught by Caiera. As far as "genius", I don't know where you're getting that from. Conquering the planet of Skaar was all done by the Red King's father. And I don't see what the spores have to do in this match. He Man would beat the Red King like a set of cheap drums.
  13. Haha. Work on my English? Alright, I've seen my fair share of Monthy Python, Fawlty Towers, and Mr. Bean movies, challenge accepted! "Jolly good fun there Culwych. Love to see you back in our midst. It's been a bloody long time since I've seen you write. All these new fellows are fine writers, but they lack your knack for lengthy arcs. Blimey! My tea is too sweet! Fiddle Sticks! Well that's just rubbish! Now what will I sip as I watch the tube?? Specially now that football is coming back. I guess I'll have to go down and get pissed as Chelsea gets clobbered by Arsenal Oh, pardon me Culwych. Just a little personal mishap. Like I said, I do have a soft spot for your matches. I fancy them for their use of individual characters. I actually recall a detective chap you used to write about. Wonder if I can find those old matches in the records.... Bur I've taken too much of your good time. Hope to see more smashing matches mate! Cheerio!"
  14. NOVA WROTE A MATCH???? Well... Wow. I can't believe I missed this. I would have given this an A, of course. Excellent idea. I'm glad someone is using these Universe characters. As for the match, no idea how Rogue survived Black Bolt's scream. That would probably be much stronger than any other attack that the Marvel squad could do. Anyways, Rogue vs Everybody sounds good on paper, but as this set up shows, 95% of Everybody will probably get slaughtered. They'll serve as meat shields while Vulcan and the Magic people actually get down to business. Uh... Rogue ftw. But only if she's naked.
  15. Pay attention boys! Grab a seat and sit back. Enjoy the show. One of the CBUB's finest writers is taking the stage! Anyways, great match Culwych. My only complaint is that you spelled "color" wrong. We all know there's no "u" there. As for the battle, I'm pulling for Mr. Hyde. The man is a fearsome fighter, and while the Ripper may have never been caught, that doesn't mean he's such a clever fighter. Anyone can take down defenseless young women. Let's see the Ripper handle a fellow monster! Let justice be served!
  16. How the heck did this match only get one B and an F? Anyways, great idea. Your grammar was poor in several sections of the set up, and the dialogue in the beginning needs to be spaced out more. However, your fight scenes were excellent and the creativity of this match gets you a "B" from me.... Or it would have, had I gotten here on time. As for the match, I would have voted for Bond. If you read the set up, you'll know that Bond knows about the Horuxcross thingies. That's why he killed the snake first. With other teams finishing the job elsewhere, Bond should be able to take Voldemort (because really, if Harry can dodge all those spells, why can't Bond?) Bond shoots Voldemort in the face, then goes off and nails some witches.
  17. This match up idea... Whoa. Excellent. Nice use of creativity. I'm gonna give you an "A". Never would have thought of this match. As for who wins, I'm rooting for the one and only, HE-MAN! The guy is far stronger than the Red King, even in his power armor. As Hulk showed, the Red King has very little fighting experience, and relies on his pawns to do his fighting. Once He-Man evades a couple blows and dodges the Red King's swords/flamethrowers, it'll be game over. The Red King is just lucky it's just He-Man. The Masters would give a series beat down to his empire.
  18. Awesome match. An "A" from me. Welcome to the CBUB. Hope to see more great matches. As for the match, Marvel Herc ftw! DC Herc is such a jerk. The guy may be slightly stronger, but Marvel Herc parties like the best of them. He'll defeat his DC Counterpart at the bar. As for the ladies, come on. Is that even a contest? DC Herc was one of the first guys to discover Themyscara, an island full of bodacious women, yet he ended up fighting them. They still hate him. Marvel Herc? That guy's getting all the ladies. Whether its Atlantean royalty or Hulk's cousin, no lady is safe around this experienced warrior.
  19. Can't believe I didn't get to grade this. Awesome match. Would have given this an A. As for the match, Hulk Smash!
  20. Methos is probably right. DC likes to overpower their heroes. I've never seen GL stop time in recent memory, but I'm sure he did it back in the 70s and it's recorded in some obscure DC Wiki. As for why Hal doesn't do it constantly, it's because his comic would sell very poorly if he just spammed that move over and over again.
  21. Pshhhhh. Everyone knows the Flower Children are all a product of the Great Generation's success. They're Baby Boomers who were the first generation of people who could just lounge around getting high and "experimenting". Their "white picket fence", suburban upbringing has prepared them very poorly for any real combat. While their idealistic outlook on life is somewhat refreshing, their dependence on LSD and other drugs will be their downfall After all, as a fellow nerd, I know that the burning passion for Comic Con cannot be sated with anything. Unlike drugs, fan rage does not decrease with time, but rather increases. Furthermore, fanboys have faced opposition from protest groups many times before (have you ever seen the outside of Comic Con?) They'll come in charging, armed with replica swords and shields (thanks to the D&D Roleplayers). Their insane cosplay costumes will strike fear into the hearts of the hippies. They shall not be denied! MARVANOTE: Great set up btw.

Not really sure if it has subliminal messages. It's pretty straight forward. As for glorifying violence, the movie is just the result of everything modern culture has morphed into. The fact this movie was made just proves a lot of its points (mainly that we've all become desensitized). The movie also talks about how much we're obsessed with fame, how easy it is to buy guns, how dumb reality tv is, how distant we all are from one another, and many more things. Sure, it's ridiculously over the top and definitely not something anyone should emulate, but it was certainly entertaining. Like I said. It's not for everyone. You'll watch it and either hate it or ask yourself what you just watched.

    1. That's what I'm talking about!! Marvel Studios cannot be denied! 2. I recently saw "God Bless America". Craziest movie ever. Not sure if it was awesome or disturbing. This guy basically has a mental break down after finding out he has a brain tumor and goes on a rampage. He only targets those he thinks are ruining modern society (so Fox News anchors, people who talk in movie theatres, reality tv stars, and babies who cry too much). It's so funny yet super crazy. I'm not even sure if I recommend it. It's just different.
