Spider Man: 2010
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen! This is Marvel's Corner!
Today I look into Spider Man, One More Day, and more! But don't just read the description, click on the blog!
-------------------------------------------
Today's Topic: Spider Man: 2010
You guys remember One More Day?
Yeah, I still have nightmares too.
Still, for those that don't, it goes something like this:
A long time ago, Peter Parker gained the abilities of a spider after being bitten by a "Cold War Era-Radioactive" Spider. These are very common in New York.Â
Maybe it's a glow in the dark spider?
After some dumb, but very human choices, Peter finds himself without his father figure, Uncle Ben. He gains a better outlook on life though.
Note: Uncle Ben is the only Comic Book character to stay dead. Ever.
At least for now...
Later, after going through several girlfriends, Peter finds his soulmate, Mary Jane Watson. She's a supermodel, great listener, hot, a supermodel, and has a great sense of humor. Also, she's a supermodel.
Have I mentioned she's a SUPERMODEL!
Anyways, eventually, Spider Man gets the nerve to ask Mary Jane to marry him. In comics, this is called developing your character!!!
After that, a whole lot of things happened. Among them, Venom showing up, the death of Harry Osborne, and Peter almost having a baby. Y'know, non-important stuff.Â

Later on, Spider Man also takes part in Marvel's Civil War. First as a poster boy for registration, then as a reformed freedom fighter. Again, this is unimportant for his character. Why is he out of High School?
Anyways, this descision comes with a price. One of Spidey's villains uses his family to hurt him! No, Aunt May!
*insert fake surprise*
Naturally, some smart guy needed to fix this. Enter Joe Q & Michael Bendis. These two geniuses *SARCASM* came up with an awesome idea. Have Peter ask the devil for help!
I mean, c'mon! When the forces of good are too weak and useless to help, who else do you turn to?

But that's not all. The only reason Aunt May got hurt was because Peter revealed his identity to the world. And the only reason Peter unmasked was because he's too serious and responsible. Naturally, this has something to do with being married.Â
Plus, a married Spider Man turns off female readers. Or was that a married Mary Jane? Heck, it could just be Black Cat.
Above: Dreams of usual Comic Book fans
Oh, and Harry Osborne dying had something to do with it too.Â
So, to fix all this stuff, Peter would sell his marriage to the devil. In return, he gets his sick aunt, his secret identity, and several years of his life back. Not a bad deal.
Unless, y'know, you care about supermodel wives, continuty, or the input of many writers & artists.
As a Spidey Fan, I was forced to boycott Spider Man comics. Then I threw up. Then I burned my One More Day copy, and tried to force myself to forget what I had just read. Y'know, the usual stuff. Â Â
Still, enough with this old news. What does this have to do with you?
Well, nothing really. However, Spidey's 2010 teaser might interest you. Check it out:
Oh yeah! Woo!
...Â
... Okay...Â
Phew...
Seriously, this might mean anything. It has Mary Jane in a wedding dress, but it also has a picture of a baby. Connection?
Oh well, I'll let you guys interpret this.
Until next time, this is Marvel Man, signing off.Â
Excelsior!
