Top 10 games that should never, ever be made into movies.

Yes, the video game movie has had many, many bumps, but it seems to be looking up. The sands of time movie seems to be faithful and fun and their have been a few successes in the past. But even with these steps forward, we must always keep these games two steps back. They just won't work.

10.Any Fighting game that allows you to play as more than one hero.

Simply because there are too much characters. If you want to get everyone represented, you need a large cast and a long movie time which is not going to happen. With so many characters, you're going to get a lot of fanboys angry because their fav char Roger Jr. didn't appear. Plus, something related, I hate it when movies skip games just so the current main character in the game can appear. It detracts from the surprise of Kazyua's Face Heel Turn, the symbolism of the cliff/volcano, and the foreshadowing of Jin's fate. But anyway, to number 9!

9.Pokemon Pokemon-Movie-Poster.JPG

Before you say it, yes, Pokemon had movies based on the show. No need for backstory for Pokemon(especially legendaries) or to introduce some obscure Pokemon because the show already did that. But for a live-action you need to establish an actual character, his relationship with his 6 Pokemon, his quest to defeat the 9 Gym Leaders AND Pokemon League, plus what ever gang is in the region. Plus the "Gotta Catch Em' All!" phrase is pretty embarking. How are you going to have a kid catch all, or even close to, Pokemon, which number 500+. So please, leave Pokemon to the anime or better, keep it just in the games.

8.Fallout fallout_screen001355_screen.jpg

One of the biggest and most successful RPGs of recent years would be a great move, right? Not really.Fallout 3 is infamous for some of its plotholes, most notably in the original ending. Your charecter doesn't have much of a personality, and the change from the West to D.C may be a little disorienting. But then there's the images of washington D.C destroyed and with how terrorism is feared these days, may discomfort some viewers.

7.Half- Life halflifecast.jpg

Half-Life is meant to be seen from Gordon's perspective; You are Gordon. there's no cutscenes to explain what another character is doing nor is there any zooming in on people for dramatic effects. Then there's the First Person View. As we know, Hollywood like doing the first two and never does the latter.

6. Pac-Man pacmanmovie.jpg

No. Almost non-existent backstory, flat characters, and lack of action would just sink this movie.

5.World of Warcraft dwarf0ln.jpg

I'm fine with the Warcraft RPGs to an extent, but the MMO should stay off limits. With hundreds of quests and dozens of expansions expanding the MMO, it would be quite watered down.

4. Doom 2

I'm fine with it being made by a new movie company but not by the same one. There are rumors that Universal is going to make a sequel, unfortunately.

3.Sonic 80515419.gif

Oy, the CGI, likely to put a human sidekick in(I'm looking at you, Chris! ), and he mass release of such lines as "Where is that DAMN fourth Chaos Emerald?", "Let's go to the computah room!" and "The more, the merrier!" make me hope this movie never happens.

2.Mass Effect

A RPG applauded for its story is actually optioned to be made into a film. Problem is, there's too much story. Numerous sidequests(some expanding charecter's backstory), loss of interactivity(like the gut-wrenching choice of

saving Ashley and Kaiden, which will likely lead to fan backlash due to fans liking one over the other.

) and the choice of making Shepard a boy or a girl, War Hero or Ruthless, Paragon or Renegade, ect. With decisions having far-reaching effects in ME 2, I hope this movie is turned down.

1. Metal Gear Solid

What, videogameman!? MGS. it's practically a movie already! No, it's more. We all know it's infamously long cutscenes, one taking over a hour, and that really adds up the time. Because of how long the cutscenes are, they going to cut some, leaving out foreshadowing or symbolism and stuff like that. It'll detract from the masterful story Hideo created. It's already got cutscenes that are like 1/2 of a movie anyway, so why bother?
