Upstairs, the figure of a person could be seen, deep within the sea of dreams. Nothing but nothing could have induced him out of- Abruptly the alarm clock time flickered to six and the next thing, the CD placed within the previous night began to play. Instantly, the song "modern major general" began to play and with a heavy heart, James awoke to greet his day. Stretching his limbs, he made his bed and began to stagger to the bathroom. A few moments later, he marched downstairs into the bars kitchen, where nodding to his boss who was cooking for the morning rush, fixed his daily smoothie. Barbecue, who valued a good rasher of bacon as much as he did anything piratical eyed it with misgivings before saying "don't you ever get tired of that stuff? What a man needs is some real victuals and not any of this new-fangled-" "Boss, you know I'm good. Besides, I'm not much of a breakfast-eater anyway you know that." "I just keep offering, hoping you'll get wise someday. Hmph! I've seen all kinds of kids waltz in this bar for a bite, and every single one of them was always in a hurry! Nobody stops to enjoy the sun or hear the breeze for even more then a moment! Why, when I was your age-" As he was talking, James slipped on his apron and picked up the waiter notebook(the bar doesn't open until 11:00pm). Smiling fondly at the old cook, he patted him on the shoulder and with a grin, met the day head on. It was always a small, but sure trickle of customers at the Jolly Roger most mornings. The food was cheap, as many of them we're students and certainly was filling. Despite his eccentrics, Barbecue certainly lived up to his name. As he passed from table to table, he contemplated what he would do when his break came. According to the radio behind the Jolly Roger flag(to give it the illusion of speaking) there was an E.T.F. concert that was coming out tonight. It sounded great, but not something he would like to do alone. Or maybe he'll just go to his club and practice his fencing....again. Only, his partners would probably be at the concert also. He sighed, and picked up two mugs of hot chocolate for table 6. Ah well. He'll think about it later.
