  1. Marvel Man. Obviously you will be on any Marvel charcter's side. Let me make certain things clear. 1) In a recent Superman/Batman story line, Superman destroyed Metallo with a few minor safeguards. Metallo carried various forms of Kryptonite, and while Superman was ridding the world of kryptonite along with Batman, he ripped Metallo's heart out and handed it to batman, who had a mechanical temporary heart that he placed in Metallo so that he wouldn't die. Did you know about this? Obviously not, otherwise you wouldn't have been quick to say that Superman gets pounded by Metallo. It all comes down to what SUperman is ready to do. If he is prepared, there is nothing that will stop him, except weeks of preparation. 2) No one says Superman is a God. Writers (who know more than you and me, sometimes say that). Don't try and tell me they don't know what they are doing. Yes he has lost before, but why are you pretending, that Gladiator hasn't? Did you CAREFULLY READ BETWEEN THE LINES OF MY PREVOUS POST????? I SAID, Gladiator lost to a second tier like Cannonball. I read it. I was disappointed too. Even though Gladiator was a knock-off of Superman (writers said so, not me), he was still a cool design, and had some appeal. But like so many charcters of their stables, Marvel destroyed him (senselessly) by making him lose to Cannonball. Actually, he couldn't even hurt Cannonball, that's how far they went. SImilarly, the company whose name you proudly carry destroyed the good impressions of several other characters. Black Bolt, Sandman, Thor, Dr.Octopus, even Magneto and Doom. They made them look like pieces of shit in fights that I can give you references of. This puts a reader off them. It is hard for me to believe hence, that Galdiator will 'rip SUpes' apart. You make it sound like Gladiator, who couldn't take on lousy Cannonball, can rip Supes???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????? HE COULDN'T RIP CANNONBALL APART, AND HE WILL RIP SUPES APART??? Wanna explain that first? Was Gladiator low on his vitamins that day???? If he lost to Hulk, or got beat by Thor, I might still look at the guy with respect. ZOINKS>>> He lost to Cannonball. OPEN YOUR EYES AND READ THIS AND THEN THINK!!!! 3) Hmmmm. Hulk will heal. D you even know Doomsday? I think not. You are after all, a Marvel Man. You probably don;t know anything about Doomsday. READ THIS AGAIN: DOOMSDAY HEALS FROM HIS WOUNDS IN A FLASH. IF HE LOSES, HE REGENERATES AND THE NEXT TIME HE WILL FACE YOU YOU CAN"T BEAT HIM WITH THE SAME ABILITIES AGAIN. BEFORE YOU REALIZE IT, HE WILL COUNTER EVERYTHING YOU THROW AT HIM. RATHER< HE WILL KILL YOU FIRST. FOr God's sake, he pounded the entire JLA, SUperman included. I never saw Hulk preform a feat like that. Hulk had his ass handed to him by Red HUlk, then Wolverine and even an older version of himself, Maestro. So, if you had reasonably said, it might be a draw, I might still have let it go. But making it sound easy? Never, non no no no. Not with Doomsday man. Doomsday has fought without the need to breather in space for days. You think Hulk can do that? Wanna explain that to me? Please, Wake up. Damn, dude, either you are too young a comic fan, or you are too driven into Marvel. You and strangehold both. Damn man, talk about being biased. You guys actually make it sound like the Marvel charcters are 'Gods', and you quickly dismiss any other publications' characters without knowing their abilities and histories. ANd you blame Superman for being called a God? I see it the other way round when I read your posts. Think about it. Cheers.
  2. As powerful poor Sentry is, he is too conflicted, confused and with a fragmented mind to win this one. More than the power of the sun, and the speed of light, and the ability to absorb energy, this is a matchup of will power. Superman's insurmountable will against Sentry's fragmented, sometimes childlike mindset. You can guess which way this is going to go. Brian Michael Bendis, who writes most of Marvel's stuff with Sentry in it, said that Norman Osborn could probably talk Sentry into defeat. That, folks is the key to this match. Superman will win this one. Cheers.
  3. Deathstroke is too crafty, evil, skilled, hardcore, sadistic, ballistic, seasoned, slick, conniving, fore-thinking, scheming, experienced, heartless bastard to let up the fight to Wolverine. He knows the body's pressure points better than anybody, singelhandedly almost took a strong enough League down, and can use (was it 70 or 85%) of his brain. Besides, Wolverine went down to him (along with a bunch of other X-men in the Titans/X-men crossover. PLEEAASE stop with the cross overs are non-canon thing) That cross over stated the facts as they are supposed to be: Deathstroke took out Wolverine with a hit to the heart area, making him immobile. That is how I see it playing out, canon, or non-canon. Cheers.
  4. Deadpool is 'dead' in this one. All Jordan has to do is fling him into space. Now, I am not saying that Deadpool will be 'easybait'. He will give Jordan a run for his money in evading him and attacking him by a well thought plan. Any lesser Lantern might even call this a tough one. But Jordan is too experienced, too aware, too mistrusting to fall for anything that Deadpool may plan. Without even counting in a Green Lantern's full power, Jordan, wins, hands down.
  5. Stranglehold Prime, I am sorry, but your knowledge here is limited. 1) Gladiator lost to Cannonball (a second tier character from X-men) in an early 90s storyline. Superman has faced far worse and won. Matching up Superman against Gladiator is like matching up Hulk against Grundy. Even some writers in discussions on standard comic magazines said that Gladiator is 'Superman Lite'. That says a lot. 2) Superman is not an overrated character. In fact, he is an 'overlooked' character, who is much better in the essence of 'superhero' than most of the cheap heroes and villians and knockoffs (like Gladiator) that we see today. He is a classic that stood the test of time. Gladiator and a lot others, like (Sentry) will be gone from memory in another let's say 15 - 20 years? 3) How on holy hell will Hulk beat Doomsday. You make it sound like it'll be a piece of cake. Doomsday renegerates and come back with the ability to counter everything he faced the last time. I understand it will be a battle, as Hulk gets stronger as he gets madder, but Doomsday comes back with abilities to counter his past weaknesses. The only thing that will stop him is being disintergrated, which did happen at the hands of Imperiex. And yet he was regenerated by his DNA alone. That said, Gladiator will not win this fight. Or should I say 'SUperman Lite' does not stand a chance in hell to pull this one off. Cheers.
  6. To : Dark Odin. Don't know why you think Darkseid is not a manipulator. He is the ruler of Apokilips, has started sequences to conquer earth, plotted behind the scenes with other villlians, used beings like Doomsday, Cyborg Superman and others for his purposes, was the central antagonist of Final Crisis, and the hand behind it all in the 80s Legends' series. (Just wondering, do you ever read DC?) And you think he is not a planner. If another being blew up the Multiverse twice, or if Darkseid did something in error doesn't wipe out his other credentials. I think 'Thanos could take him' is totally wrong too. You make it sound 'easy'. That is not the way it will be.
  7. Nova Force Nova quoted: Crossovers aren't canon... You seem to be the one with no prior knowledge... Well, if a tree is fallen in the forest, and you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it isn't there. It is more a matter of common sense here. OK, cross overs are not canon, and I knew that. But are the words and opinions of the stable creators and story writers in either DC and Marvel canon? I THINK SO. IF YOU DON'T, THEN YOU ARE ONLY DELUDING YOURSELF BY STICKING TO CERTAIN THINGS THAT BENEFIT THE DISCUSSION FROM your end. Both companies' creators collaborated on it, and it was an official publication. If you read standard monthly comic publications, people who write these characters have admitted to facts about which companies' characters are powerful and which aren't. Given that, I do believe their words are very much CANON. A company's writer or creator won't diss a long standing charcater to give way to another's just for the sake of sales. Some writing is good, and very balanced, which is why I brought the crossover in. As for StrangeHold Prime's comment on Sentry NOT BEING OVERRATED, well, when there is a character that is 'quoted' to be all powerful with a million exploding suns potential in him, (which to me, is overblown, as he couldn't do more than hold Hulk off) and yet he has in no way impacted the industry except for tearing Carnage in half in outer space, he is overrated. I already said his saving grace is the mystery/depth in his character. That in no way means it has been tapped yet. Did you hear Brian Michael Bendis' commentary on the Avengers series, and presently Dark Avengers series? He said that Norman Osborn could probably talk Sentry into fleeing earth and leave him mentally in shambles. With those comments in mind, from an expert on Marvel, methinks that if Sentry goes up against someone like Darkseid or even Superman, he stands no chance. Better characters haven't. Cheers.
  8. I am apalled by the fans who come on these sites and indeed have no information aboutthe background of characters. I see there is an ongoing argument over Kronos or Galactus winning. In the JLA/Avengers official crossover, (not a lame fan vote fuelled poorly scripted series), Kronos may or may not have acquired 'priveleges' out of accident, but he did rip Galactus apart like a tin can, just to force him to reveal what he saw at the big bang. Not only that, when Galactus did not co-operate, he used his hide as a base. Please stop arguing and check up histories before putting in lame points. Now for this fight. Thanos will not beat Darksied. Thanos is powerful, but his experience or treachery do not surpass Darkseid's. The foes they faced themselves speak for them. Thanos has been beat. Darksied, technically has not been beaten, leave for the lamely scripted fight with Doomsday. (He ended up using Doomsday as a tool anyways). He could always use the Omega sanction to split Thanos in a millions dorections anyways. His victory however, lies in the planning, not in a hands on war. Hulk stands no chance in hell against Doomsday. Even if Hulk puts him down for once, Doomsday's evolution will make him unstoppable, particularly for a brainless idiot like Hulk, who will have no other counter except for building his strength as the fight goes on. But so will Doomsday. You can compare the numbers yourself. As for Sentry and Superman, sorry for sounding like a DC fan (am not, I am for all), but Sentry is one of the most overrated characters of all time. His history is lame, with the only saving grace being his inner struggle. That is where Superman wins. Superman's insurmountable will against Sentry's dysfunctional mindset decodes this outcome more than anything else. Now, for those who didn;t know, in official crossovers, repeatedly, it has been said, that DC charcters are more powerful than Marevel's. Marvel's are more versatile, gullible and hence have more popularity, which is changing nowadays. Please, stop arguing with yourselves fan boys. It doesn't pay. Cheers.
