My faithsorely tested

My posts from the religon topics, along with something that has almost demolished my faith.

Who Believes in God and Jesus Christ

I'm going to be honest. I'd like to, and I think I still partly do, believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, but I have problems. I like to think I'm a logical person and it just doesn't seem likely He exists, or there'd be more evidence. I also go agianst some of the greatest Christian opinions on controversial topics. For example, Abortion? Pro Choice, to an extent(Ruinus and others convinced me in one topic about it).

Gay marriage? Major supporter. Porn? Sure, it doesn't hurt anybody. Sure, abortion you can handwave as I don't think it's ever mentioned, but the Bible condemns lust and homosexuality.

Now I'd be fine with it condemning lust, but love just because it's between two genders? I can't support that. Which is why I've taken Treach's approach that some of the Bible is fabricated. It goes on and on about how sinful man is. To think that they wouldn't twist events and God's word to their advantage is naive.

But I think it's just lying to myself. I don't know. In any case, it was nice getting this out.

Saying you don't believe in God because the Bible... Is just as foolish as saying you DO believe inGod because of the Bible. If you DO believe in GOD then the bible is only a map to get where he wants you to be. It's not proof he exist. If I gave you a map to Atlantis.... Well you get the point!

Yeah, he wants me to be a homophobic, censoring, and pro life follower, which I don't agree with(though, yo be fair, he never specifically condemns abortion and porn, but he does condemn homosexuality, which I cannot agree with). Besides, that's not just it. It's also the lack of physical evidence.

Does God Exist(removed my me, found it off topic)

It's faith. If there was clear evidence, then it wouldn't be a religion. I don't know anymore what side I'm on. I've expressed my thoughts in the now locked Who Believes in God and Jesus Christ topic. When the Bible has such lines as Levitcius 20:13 "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them." , I cannot support the God decipted in the Bible.

There's been interpretations and handwaves of that line, but isn't the Bible God's word? Is it not a sin to twist or change it? I've tried Treach's approach(or at least I think it was his) where the Bble has already ben twisted by those who put it down, as man is inheretly sinful. Thus, it is naive to think they have not twisted or even fabricated parts of the Bible. But that becomes an excuse for everything.

Where do you know it's God's word? I think I'm deluding myself. I'd have to say I'm definitely leaning on the atheism fence. I think I'm just trying to find ways to keep myself in my religon. Again, it feels good expressing this, so thanks for indulging me.

Skeptic's Annoated Bible

This has hurt my faith even more. Check it out, it lists contradictons, absurdities, injustice, etc. Take a look if you're a Christian.
