-------

The first disturbance is subtle: a sudden drop in temperature across a remote stretch of the Scandinavian wilderness. Meteorologists blame an unexpected cold front. Magic-sensitive heroes know better. Ice, Tora Olafsdotter, feels the shift in her bones — a ripple of elemental imbalance, as if another presence is tugging at the world’s natural flow of frost and wind.

She follows the disturbance north.

At the same time, in another realm entirely, Ryu — wanderer, swordsman, and heir to the Dragon Clan — senses a tear in the boundary between worlds. It’s not a portal created by magic he recognizes. It feels ancient, primal, like the world itself is calling him. When he steps through, he finds himself in a land of towering pines, frozen lakes, and a sky that glows with aurora.

The tear between dimensions has awakened something deep beneath the ice. A dormant spirit, older than human civilization, stirs — and its awakening sends shockwaves through both realms. Ice arrives first, her breath forming crystalline clouds as she approaches a glacier split open by unnatural energy. She can feel the elemental spirit’s fear and confusion. She tries to calm it, but the spirit’s panic lashes out, creating a beacon of raw magical cold.

That beacon draws Ryu.

He emerges from the treeline, sword at his side, dragon power simmering beneath his skin. The spirit’s energy resonates with him — not as a threat, but as something familiar, something that feels like the breath of a dragon trapped in ice.

Ice sees him as another intruder.

Ryu sees her as the one controlling the elemental surge.

Neither is eager to fight, but the spirit’s unstable magic twists the air around them, amplifying their powers and warping their instincts. Ice’s aura flares, frost crawling across the ground in jagged patterns. Ryu’s eyes glow with draconic light, the cold feeding his transformation rather than hindering it.

The spirit’s panic peaks.

A shockwave erupts.

Ice raises a wall of frozen wind to shield herself.
Ryu braces, scales flickering across his skin.

When the blast clears, the two stand opposed — elemental guardian vs. dragon-blooded warrior — each believing the other is the key to stabilizing or destroying the spirit.

The glacier groans.
The aurora twists violently overhead.
The dimensional tear widens.

And the battle begins — not out of malice, but out of necessity, with the fate of two worlds hanging in the balance.
