She clenches her fists, golden energy crackling around her ears. “Whoever brought me here… you will answer.” She steps forward, ready to interrogate the entire dimension if she must. Skarlet (Mortal Kombat) The air splits open like a wound, and Skarlet emerges in a swirl of blood-mist. She inhales sharply—the Citadel’s energy tastes strange, like magic that has never known death. She smiles. -Blood sorcery flows freely here -The arena itself seems alive -And she senses two powerful heartbeats nearby To her, this is not a trap. It is a feast. “Show yourselves. I hunger.” Her blades drip with conjured blood as she stalks toward the center. Naomi McDuffie (DC) A shockwave of radiant energy erupts overhead as Naomi descends, her aura blazing like a newborn star. She lands hard, cracking the sound-glass beneath her feet. She was investigating a dimensional anomaly—now she’s standing in the middle of one. -Her energy senses detect two hostile signatures -The Citadel reacts to her presence, glowing brighter -She feels the same cosmic pull that once revealed her origins Naomi floats a few inches off the ground, eyes glowing. “Okay… whoever set this up better start talking.” The Conflict Begins The Citadel responds to their tension: -The arena expands and contracts like a beating heart -Soundwaves form barriers and platforms -Blood-runes pulse beneath the surface -Hard-light constructs flicker into existence Each warrior interprets the situation differently: -Auran believes the others are obstacles between her and the truth -Skarlet sees two powerful sources of blood and energy to consume -Naomi recognizes a multiversal threat and prepares to neutralize it The storm outside intensifies, and a voice echoes through the Citadel—distorted, layered, impossible to locate. “Only one of you may claim the Resonant Core.” The platform locks into place.
