The night air outside the Bushinryu dojo crackled with tension. Guy and Shiva circled each other; their feet glided across the stone. The world seemed to narrow to just the two of them. Shiva went on the offensive. He was a blur of motion as he attacked with flying knee into a spinning backfist. Guy blocked high, but the force pushed him back a step.

“Too slow,” said Shiva.

Guy answered instantly with a Bushin Senpukyaku! A rising spinning kick that forced Shiva to guard. Guy landed and chained into an elbow rush that drove Shiva backward across the courtyard.

Poison and Maki shouted as they watched the match unfurl.

Poison clapped enthusiastically. “YES, Shiva! That’s it! Break him down!”

Maki crossed her arms, unimpressed.  “Guy, you call that speed? My students would have already finished this.”

Guy shot her a quick glare but stayed focused. Shiva recovered and retaliated with a sliding sweep into a double palm strike, then transitioned into a rapid multi-hit combo, his strikes flowed like water. Guy absorbed a hit, twisted, and countered with a Hozanto shoulder charge that slammed Shiva into a stone lantern. The lantern shattered.

Shiva emerged from the debris, unfazed. He launched forward with an aerial flip kick into a downward heel smash that forced Guy to roll aside. The ground cracked where Shiva landed.

Guy sprang up, leaping into a Bushin Flip, grabbed Shiva mid-motion and flipped over him, only for Shiva to break free mid-air and counter with a mid-air kick, sending Guy skidding across the ground.

Poison whooped. “That’s what I’m talking about! Style AND impact!”

Maki scoffed loudly  “If Guy loses, I’m never letting him hear the end of it.”

Guy wiped blood from his lip. “…Not happening.”

The two clashed again. This time it was relentless, strike for strike, counter for counter. Guy unleashed a rapid chain combo, punch, elbow, spinning kick, finishing with a rising strike that caught Shiva under the chin. But Shiva answered with sheer aggression. body blow, spinning elbow, rapid-fire kicks, ending in a devastating forward dash strike that rocked Guy.

Both men staggered. Then one final exchange. Shiva charged. Guy stepped forward. Impact. A blur of motion too fast to follow, and then silence. Shiva dropped to one knee, then collapsed.

Guy stood, barely. Victorious. He exhaled slowly.

Maki blinked, then smirked.  “Well… I’ll admit it. I didn’t expect that.”

Poison pouted for exactly half a second, then snapped right back into her usual energy.

“Aww, Shiva! You were AMAZING!”

She turned to Hugo, and threw her arm around him.

“Okay, sure, we didn’t win the tournament. But come on, tell me we didn’t have the BEST matches.”

Hugo nodded enthusiastically. “Yes! Big fights! Big impact!”

Poison grinned.  “Exactly. Ratings gold, baby. We’re walking out of this as STARS.”

At that moment, a familiar armored figure stepped forward, it was Sodom.

“Poison, there is something you must know,” he said.

Poison tilted her head.

Sodom continued. “Linda, Dominique, and Nora, they, uh, thay have gone rogue. They are mutating men… into dinosaur-human hybrids.”

Poison was taken aback.

“They WHAT?” Poison pinched the bridge of her nose. “Okay, I told them to ‘seize your moment,’ not ‘create Jurassic Park: Crime Edition.’”

Hugo’s eyes lit up. “Dinosaurs are back?!”

Poison sighed. “This isn’t the kind of press we were looking for coming out of the tournament. Come on fellas, we’ve got work to do.”

The feed cut back to the Pao Pao Cafe in Southtown.

Terry Bogard leaned back in his chair. “Well, folks, I know there is a lot of extra stuff going on but that was one hell of a final match.”

Mai Shiranui crossed her arms, visibly annoyed. “I’m telling you, Terry—Poison should have seen this coming. A group like that? Of course they’d go too far.”

Blue Mary shrugged. No point assigning blame now. We’ve got teams handling it.”

Terry nodded.  “And from what we’ve seen and heard, they’re doing a great job.”

He  then turned to Mai. “Why don’t you grab Andy and get Team Bushinryu ready for the trophy ceremony?”

Mai perked up instantly.  “Yes, a wonderful idea. I’ll go get them!”

She hurried off.

Moments later, five new figures entered. In the middle, stood a lean muscular man with dark blue hair. a sleeveless gi style top, and a katana strapped to his back. On his left were two men, a blonde man in an armored tunic, and a large hulking bald man with a sleeveless armored harness and traditional martial arts pants. On his right were two women. One with short red hair, a revealing kimono styled top, a yellow sash, black leggings and a fan in her hand. The other had dark purple hair tied into a ponytail, a sleeveless top, purple skirt, arm and knee guards, and carried a kodachi.

The blonde man stepped forward. “I hope we’re not too late.”

“For what?”” asked Mary.

The blonde man smiled. “Right, we should probably have introduced ourselves first. My name is Falcon.” He gestured to the other two men. “That is Kagetsura and the big guy is Kongoh.” He then shifted his presentation to the two women. “And this Kurenai and Okuni. We are a ninja clan from Tokyo.”

“We saw the challenge you guys held there with the raid on the Okada Corporation,” Kurenai, the woman with the kodachi, explained.

“We intended to confront Lady Okada ourselves, but what we saw there intrigued us,” Okuni added calmly.

“And now we want in on the challenge to see how our skills measure up,” Kurenai concluded.

Terry briefly took off his Fatal Fury cap and scratched his head. “Uh… well sorry to tell you this, but the tournament’s already over.”

The group of ninjas was visibly deflated.

Mary smirked. “Hey, at least they have five people. That already puts them ahead of the other group that showed up too late.”

The event bouncer, King, stepped in camera frame to offer some consolation “It sounds like you all came a long way. Why don’t I get you all some drinks?”

They reluctantly followed her.

Mary tapped her earpiece. “We’ve got connections coming in.”

The screens lit up with a split screen of Captain Commando, Hawk Manson, and Jack Tenrec.

“All situations handled,” Commando confirmed.

“Yep, same here. No more dinosaur men in this area.,” Hawk added.

“The technology is being sent back to my time,” stated Jack.

“Fighting alongside people I had never met before that all had unique skills and things they brought to the table was pretty fun,” stated Hawk. “It’s something you might want to consider if you host another tournament.”

Captain Commando and Jack Tenrec nodded in agreement.

Terry grinned.  “You know, that might be something for next time. If there is a next time.”

“Any word from Hannah and Mace about taking down the ringleaders?” Jack asked.

At that moment, the screens switched again. Hannah Dundee and Mace Daniels stood victorious over the defeated bodies of Linda, Dominique, and Nora.

“All clear,” Mace declared.

Hannah smiled. “Fun fight. Some unique opponents unlike anything I’ve come across in my time.”

Mace shrugged. “Only downside to the experience was that I lost our bet. Wish I could blame it on some future technology cheat you used but straight up you just beat more people. It was pretty impressive, actually.”

Hannah laughed. “You kept up just fine.”

Terry offered a thumbs up. “Great job ladies. And to everyone who immediately stepped up and took care of this problem before it could spread, you have everyone’s gratitude. You are all amazing fighters and it showed today.”

Soon after, Mai returned with Andy Bogard and Team Bushinryu: Zeku, Strider Hiryu, Guy, Kimberly, and Maki. Terry stood proudly.

“Time to honor our champions, ” he proclaimed.

“Not just winners, undefeated winners,” Blue Mary noted. “A great showing for Team Bushinryu!”

Together Mary and Terry presented the trophy to the winning team. Guy and Maki accepted it together as their teammates stood back.

“Heh, not bad for an old man and his lineage of students.” Zeku commented.

“Mission success. Efficiency acceptable,” Hiryu said quietly.

“YES! We actually did it! This is going on my highlight reel!” Kimberly exclaimed.

Guy nodded toward his pupil.  “We earned this.”

“Told you we were the best,” said Maki.

Mai Shiranui stood with a huge smile on her face as she held onto Andy’s arm.

“It’s so wonderful that a group of martial artists won the tournament,” she gushed.

Andy nodded. “Bushinnyu style is certainly impressive.”

“It is. Although it’s still not quite up to the standard of Shiranui style,” Mai insisted.

Before the conversation could continue, the ninja clan from earlier returned to the broadcast area.

Falcon stepped forward. “We’ve decided we want a match against the winners. That seems like the best course of action.”

“Ninja versus ninja,” Kagetsura stated plainly.

Mai turned sharply. “Excuse me, who are you?”

Mary quickly explained their new visitors to Mai/

Kurenai pointed directly at Maki.  “I saw you take on the Okada Sisters in Japan. I want to see how my skills compare to yours.”

“We shall dance, and see whose art is superior,” stated Okuni.

Mai had reached a breaking point over this latest intrusion in the tournament, and she  stepped between the two teams

“Enough! You’re not hijacking their moment!” she exclaimed.

Okuni tilted her head. “And you are?”

Before Mai could answer, Okuni cut her off to answer her own question as she looked Mai up and down. “Let me guess, set decoration to offer some eye candy to the proceedings.”

Mai exhaled with anger. Then she spun.  Her red dress vanished in a swirl, replaced by her signature kunoichi outfit.

“I’ve had ENOUGH of random people showing up late and trying to steal the spotlight. You weren’t invited and it is rude to try to force yourselves in.”

Okuni smirked. “Random? Sweetie, we are an elite ninja clan who have cleaned up streets all over this world, and from a far bigger threat than common street thugs.”

Kurenai chimed in. “Legions of undead evil spirits, ghosts, and resurrected warriors in service of an evil emperor to be exact.”

Mai scoffed. “Are we supposed to be impressed by that?”

“I’m impressed,” Terry admitted.

“It’s hard not to be,” Mary added.

Mai stepped closer to Okuni. “If you want to fight so badly, how about you fight me? I’ll make you regret your rudeness.”

Okuni laughed. “I’m sure that loose fitting little outfit of yours must work as a great distraction for a lot of the guys you fight, but it doesn’t do anything for me other than tell me you must not be confident in your abilities to use such a pathetic tactic to try and gain an advantage.”

Kurenai leaned over to Kagetsura. “Is she projecting? I think they have very similar aesthetics actually right down to both carrying fans.”

Okuni smirked, “I heard that comment, sister. And you couldn’t be more wrong.”

On the other side, Maki whispered to Zeku. “Mai gave this big speech about not hijacking our moment, but that’s exactly what she’s doing, I shouldn’t be surprised, really.”

“Ah, we should let it play out. This could be good,” stated Zeku.

Okuni stared at Mai.  “If you wish to fight,  I will dance you into the ground.”

Mai leaned in, nose-to-nose. “Try it.”

Terry laughed. “Well folks, didn’t see this coming, but I’m not complaining!”

Mary shrugged.. “It was inevitable that one of us would end up in a fight, honestly. The only surprising part is that it wasn’t you.’

Terry shrugged with a grin on his face. He then turned to the camera.

“Thanks for watching, ladies and gentlemen. The Streets Never End tournament officially concludes with one final, impromptu showdown! Enjoy everyone!”
