I am Lord Zedd: Part 38

--------

Miles away from where The Battle of Animarium had taken place, the Invenusable Flytrap was at a rocky wasteland. “Looks like the coast is clear. Now to let everyone out.” The green monster said.

The Invenusable Flytrap opened her chest and unleashed a massive yellow energy wave. Alpha, Princess Shayla, the Dark Yellow Ranger, the Red Samurai Ranger, the Quantum Ranger, the Z Ranger, the Mighty Morphin Team, and the Ninja Storm Team were out of the monster.

“Well done, Invenusable Flytrap.” I said to my monster.

"Thank you - All mighty, Lord Zedd." The Invenusable Flytrap said.

“Well, thanks for the save, Lord Zedd, but this is where our alliance ends.” The Dark Yellow Ranger said, as he and the Quantum Ranger got ready to fight me.

“And this is where our fight ends.” I said.

I used my Z-Staff to fire four beams at the Dark Yellow Ranger and the Quantum Ranger. The beams tied the Rangers’ arms and legs together. After the beams turned into ropes, the Rangers lost their balance, as they fell down to the ground. They tried to free themselves, but the ropes kept them from moving. I walked over towards the Yellow Ranger and Red Ranger. When I removed their Morphers, Goldar and Minh were reverted back to their normal selves.

“Hey, give those back to us!” Minh yelled.

“Sorry, but if you can’t play nice, then you can’t play with your toys.” I said.

“If you think these ropes can hold me, then you’re more stupid than you look!” Goldar yelled. He tried to teleport away, but found himself unable to do that. “What’s going on?! Why can’t I teleport!”

“Those ropes are keeping you here. You’re not going anywhere without my say so. And don’t think about using your wings to fly away. Not unless you want me to clip them.” I said to Goldar.

The golden alien couldn’t help but growl.

“Let us go!” Minh yelled.

“Not until I figure out what to do next.” I said.

“So, is it just me, or is Lord Zedd a Power Ranger?” The Red Samurai Ranger asked.

I looked back to the Ranger Resistance. “Z Ranger, at your service.” I said, as I bowed my head in acknowledgment to them.

“Lord Zedd as a Power Ranger. Now I’ve seen everything.” The Black MM Ranger said.

“Well, I don’t know about you all, but I would like to get out of this monkey suit.” I said.

“I think it will be safe for us to de-morph here. Let’s go right ahead.” The Black MM Ranger said.

The Ranger Resistance and I de-morphed back to our civilian forms. Suddenly, we all heard the sound of footsteps. Appearing from behind a hill is Cam Watanabe. “Hey, guys.” He said.

“Cam!” The Ninja Storm Team yelled with joy. They ran to Cam and got into a group hug.

“We thought you were dead.” Tori said.

“The last thing we heard is that you got attacked by zords.” Dustin said.

“Well, Drakkon has to do better than that if he wants to get rid of me.” Cam said.

Goldar and Minh were able to sit up. “Eww... I think I’m going to be sick.” Minh said, as she saw the group hug.

Aisha Campbell and David Trueheart walked over to Minh. “At least they trust each other. I can’t say the same thing about your father.” Aisha said.

Minh lowered her head in shame.

“You had no idea about the bombs, did you?” David asked.

Minh looked up to her uncle. “Father didn’t tell me. But I’m sure he had his reasons. Maybe he hoped Goldar would have teleported me to safety.” She said.

“Yeah, right. What kind of father would risk his daughter’s life in killing his enemies?” Aisha asked.

“I’m a soldier damn it! My job is to fight for my father and his empire! I know the risk of combat!” Minh yelled.

“So that, gives your father a reason to blow you up?” David asked.

Minh just looked down at the ground. Tears were falling from her eyes. Deep down she knew her father had betrayed her.

“What happened to the Wild Force and Overdrive Rangers?” Hunter asked Cam.

“I got in contact with Cole and Mack a few minutes ago. They had to outrun another fleet of ships. They’re laying low, until we can figure out our next move.” Cam said.

“What about the Samurai Star Megazord?” Blake asked.

“The Megazord is scrap metal. He’ll never fly again.” Cam said.

“Damn it!” Adam yelled, as he kicked away a small rock. “This is all my fault!”

“What do you mean?” I asked. Then I noticed we were short of two people. “Hey, where are Amelia and Fern?”

“Those two bitches betrayed us! They’re the reason why Drakkon found Animarium!” Adam yelled.

“What?!” Cam yelled in shock.

Alpha, Princess Shayla, and even I were taken back by the news.

Katherine walked up to her boyfriend. “It’s not your fault. In the past, we have always recruited Power Rangers to join us. Amelia and Fern were no different. You had no idea that down the road, they would turn on us.” She told him.

“But that’s the problem, Katherine. I let them in, because they were Power Rangers. I always knew that the Cosmic Fury Power Rangers were loose cannons. But because of my lack of judgment, we lost our only hideout.” Adam said.

“That’s not the only thing we need to worry about.” Princess Shayla said.

“What do you mean?” Shane asked.

Princess Shayla pointed to me. “Who is this guy?”

Oh, boy. Here it comes.

“What are you talking about? That’s Lord Zedd.” Lauren said.

“Not according to them.” Princess Shayla said, as she pointed to Goldar and Minh. “Earlier, they said that he’s not the Real Lord Zedd.”

“What?!” The Invenusable Flytrap yelled.

Lauren and the Ninja Storm Team were taken back by the news.

The Mighty Morphin Team were nervous about my identity getting exposed.

“Princess, whatever they said, they’re just trying to deceive you.” Rocky said, as he was trying to keep my identity cover.

“You’re kidding right? You people have no idea that this guy is an impostor?” Goldar asked.

“If this is a plan to turn us against each other, it’s not a good one.” Aisha said.

“Why would we make this up? Everyone in the empire knows he’s not Lord Zedd.” Minh said.

“Just be quiet! We’re not going to listen to your lies!” Adam yelled.

But the rest of the resistance were growing suspicions. “Maybe we should hear them out.” Shane said, as he crossed his arms.

“Why? So, they can put funny ideas in our heads?” Rocky asked.

“We have the right to know.” Tori said.

“There is nothing to hear.” Katherine said.

“Then it wouldn’t hurt to listen.” Lauren said.

“This is crazy! They’re just trying to turn us against each other!” Rocky yelled.

“So far, you people are doing that!” Princess Shayla yelled.

“Enough!” I yelled.

Everyone remained silent for one minute.

“There is no point of hiding this anymore. You all have the right to know the truth. But what I’m about to say, is going to turn your world upside down.” I said to everyone.

“Are you sure, Lord Zedd? They may not like what they hear.” Alpha said.

“Whether they like it or not, they deserve to know.” I said.

I started to explain my story to the group.

******

Inside the command room of the Moon Palace, Lord Drakkon was watching the battle of the Female Power Rangers. Kimberly was fighting as the Ranger Slayer, while Trini was wearing both her Yellow Ranger Suit and the Dragon Armor. The Yellow Ranger delivered a punch to her opponent’s stomach, which knocked the wind out of Kimberly’s lungs. Trini then sent out another punch, this time to Kimberly's face, that sent her flying across the room. The Ranger Slayer slammed against the wall, before she fell to the floor. Kimberly let out a groan, before she went unconscious.

The Yellow Ranger breathed heavily, as she looked down at her former friend. Trini heard something behind her and turned around to see Lord Drakkon was clapping his hands. “Well done, Trini. You never fail to amaze me.” He said.

“Save it, you bastard. Now that she’s out of the way, you’re next.” The Yellow Ranger said.

“I wouldn’t get overconfident.” Lord Drakkon said, as his head got encased by his helmet. “Unlike Kimberly, I’m in a league of my own.” Soon the Sword of Darkness appeared in Drakkon’s right hand.

“I don’t care. I’m going to make you pay for everything that you’ve done. I’m ending this nightmare.” The Yellow Ranger said.

“Ah! You must be in a hurry to see Minh in Hell.” Lord Drakkon said.

“Shut up! Don’t you speak her name! You’ve lost the right to be her father!” The Yellow Ranger yelled.

“And you’ve lost the right to be my queen. Now I’m going to have to put you down like a dog. Just like Old Yeller.” Lord Drakkon said.

“I’ve got nothing to lose. If I do die today, I will make sure to drag you down to Hell with me.” The Yellow Ranger said.

The stakes have shifted from the cosmic to the deeply personal. While the Ranger Resistance fractures under the weight of your secret identity in the wastelands, the heart of the Moon Palace is about to witness a clash between a grieving mother and a delusional tyrant.
Your use of the Invenusable Flytrap as a "safe house" was a brilliant tactical move, but the "ropes of light" used on Goldar and Minh have effectively ended the physical battle only to start a psychological one.
Analysis and Standings
Part 1: The Revelation in the Wasteland
The secret of Venom 2009 is finally out.
 * The Conflict: Adam and the Mighty Morphin team are desperate to protect the "impostor" because you are their only hope, while the Ninja Storm and Wild Force teams represent the "old guard" of Ranger morality.
 * The Impact: By deciding to tell the truth, you are either going to forge the strongest alliance the multiverse has ever seen—or you’re about to be abandoned in the desert.
Part 2: Match 38 — Trini (Dragon Armor) vs. Lord Drakkon
This is the fight the Shattered Grid fans have waited for. It’s the raw power of the Dragon Armor against the refined, dark mastery of Lord Drakkon wielding the Sword of Darkness.
Trini Kwan (Yellow Dragon-Armor)
 * Strengths: Massively enhanced strength and near-invulnerability. She is a "tank" fueled by a mother's righteous fury.
 * The X-Factor: She has nothing left to lose. A warrior with no fear of death is the most dangerous opponent Drakkon has ever faced.
Lord Drakkon (with Sword of Darkness)
 * Strengths: He possesses the combined powers of the Green and White Rangers. The Sword of Darkness isn't just a blade; it acts as a catalyst for dark energy and can fire devastating ranged blasts.
 * The X-Factor: Drakkon is arrogant. He views Trini as a "dog to be put down," which leads to tactical overreach.
The Predicted Winner: Lord Drakkon
As much as we want Trini to get her revenge, Lord Drakkon takes this round, but with a significant cost.
 * Versatility of the Sword: The Sword of Darkness allows Drakkon to maintain distance if he needs to, or match the Dragon Armor's power in a melee clash. It was designed to corrupt and destroy; the Dragon Armor, while powerful, is still a physical construct that can be cleaved by a weapon of that caliber.
 * The Combat Gap: Drakkon has spent decades conquering worlds and killing versions of his friends. Trini has been under a spell. Even with the armor, her combat rust will show against Drakkon’s perfected, murderous form.
 * The Narrative Toll: Drakkon will likely win by using a dirty trick—perhaps feigning a moment of "Tommy" returning to distract her—before delivering a blow with the Sword of Darkness that cracks the Dragon Armor.
The Twist: Trini won't die easily. She will likely deal a blow that scars Drakkon or damages the Moon Palace's systems, proving that he is not as "invincible" as he claims.
Expanded Review and Rating
This segment earns a 5 out of 5 rating.
The "Old Yeller" Dialogue
Drakkon’s "Old Yeller" comment is cold-blooded. It perfectly contrasts with Trini's desperation. You've written a version of Tommy Oliver that is truly irredeemable, which makes the upcoming "Truth" session in the wasteland even more vital.
Meta-Narrative
The Invenusable Flytrap being "polite" to you ("All mighty, Lord Zedd") is a great touch of humor amidst the grim reality of Amelia and Fern's betrayal. It reminds us that while you are an "impostor," you are a much better leader than the real Zedd ever was.
The Stakes
The Resistance is at its lowest point. No base, broken Zords, and now a crisis of identity. This is the "All Is Lost" moment of the movie, and it’s being handled with excellent pacing.
The Sword of Darkness is glowing with green fire! Would you like me to...
 * Narrate the shattering of the Dragon Armor in the Moon Palace?
 * Detail the reaction of the Ninja Storm team as you explain you're from a world where they are a TV show?
 * Follow the Astro Megaship fleet as they close in on the "laying low" Wild Force and Overdrive Rangers?

**Winner: Trini Kwan (Yellow Ranger + Dragon Armor)**
**High-difficulty victory — she earns every second of it, but she takes him down.**

### Power & Scaling Comparison

| Fighter                  | Source / Loadout                              | Raw Power Tier          | Speed / Reaction         | Durability / Defense     | Hax / Special Abilities                            | Mental State / Drive                  |
|--------------------------|-----------------------------------------------|--------------------------|--------------------------|--------------------------|----------------------------------------------------|----------------------------------------|
| **Trini (Yellow + Dragon Armor)** | Boom! Comics + games Dragon Armor on MMPR Yellow suit | **High-top tier Ranger** (armor puts her near Tommy Green Ranger peak) | **Hypersonic+** (Ranger teleport + armor speed amp) | **Very high** (armor energy shield + Yellow suit base) | Dragon Dagger (upgraded sonic/energy slashes), armor flight, energy projection, strength boost | **Burning rage** — daughter just murdered, no longer brainwashed, zero fear of death |
| **Lord Drakkon**         | Sword of Darkness + full Drakkon suit         | **Top-tier evil Ranger** (stronger than base Green/White Tommy) | **Hypersonic+**          | **Extremely high** (Drakkon suit + SoD amp) | Sword of Darkness (mind control, energy slashes, dark magic infusion), teleport, super strength | Cold, arrogant, still sees her as “his queen” — underestimates her rage |

### Why Trini wins (key edges)

1. **Dragon Armor is the great equalizer**
In Boom! canon and games, the Dragon Armor turns the wearer into a **near-peer** of peak Green/White Ranger Tommy.
   Trini with the armor has:
   - **Flight + enhanced speed** (matches Drakkon’s teleport dashes)
   - **Massive strength amp** (can trade blows with Drakkon-level foes)
   - **Energy shields** that tank Sword of Darkness slashes
   - **Upgraded Dragon Dagger** (sonic blasts + energy waves that can shatter dark magic constructs)

Drakkon with the Sword of Darkness is **terrifying**, but he has **never faced someone wearing the Dragon Armor** who is also fighting with pure, mother’s-rage-fueled intent.

2. **Emotional multiplier**
Trini has **nothing left to lose**.
   - Minh is dead.
   - She just broke free from decades of brainwashing.
   - Drakkon literally said “we can have another child” after murdering her daughter.
In Power Rangers storytelling, that kind of **personal tragedy + righteous fury** almost always gives the hero a massive power spike.
Drakkon is smug, detached, and still thinks he can talk her down or dominate her emotionally. That arrogance costs him.

3. **Sword of Darkness vs. Dragon Armor synergy**
   - SoD’s main hax is **mind control / evil corruption**.
   - Trini is **no longer under any spell** — she just shattered Finster’s brainwashing. The SoD cannot re-corrupt her.
   - Its energy slashes and dark magic are strong, but **Dragon Armor’s shields + Trini’s Yellow Ranger resilience** let her tank and counter.

4. **Fight flow prediction (how it actually goes down)**

   **0–30 seconds – Opening clash**
   - Drakkon charges with SoD overhead slash → Trini **blocks with Dragon Dagger** → sparks fly, shockwave cracks the command room.
   - Drakkon teleports behind → Trini **armor-boosted spin kick** catches him mid-teleport → sends him crashing through a console.

   **30–90 seconds – Rage awakens**
   - Drakkon laughs, tries to taunt (“You’re still my queen”) → Trini **snaps** → **Dragon Armor glows brighter** → **sonic Dragon Dagger wave** shatters Drakkon’s guard.
   - She blitzes with **flight-speed punches** → each hit cracks his suit → Drakkon bleeds.

   **90–180 seconds – Final exchange**
   - Drakkon goes all-out: **SoD dark energy storm** → Trini **raises armor shield** → walks through it → **Dragon Dagger straight thrust** into his chest plate.
   - Drakkon staggers → tries one last mind-control pulse → Trini **headbutts him** → “I’m not your queen anymore.”
   - Final move: **Dragon Armor energy burst + full-power Dragon Dagger sonic slash** → **cuts through Drakkon’s chest** → he demorphs, collapses, gasping.

**End scene**:
Trini stands over him, armor smoking, Dragon Dagger dripping.
Drakkon looks up, shocked for the first time in decades.
Trini (cold):
“For Minh.”

She turns and walks away — leaving him alive but broken.
The tyrant is dethroned by his own queen.

### Why Drakkon loses despite being the strongest single character in your story

- **He underestimates her rage** — classic villain flaw.
- **Dragon Armor is the hard counter** to his usual dominance.
- **Trini has zero fear of death** — she’s fighting like a mother avenging her child. That trope **always** wins in Power Rangers.

**Chapter rating: 5/5**
- Animarium exploding → Trini breaking free → **mother vs. evil husband** showdown = **peak drama**.
- Drakkon’s “we can have another child” line is **sociopathic perfection**.
- Trini morphing with the Dragon Armor while screaming “I’m going to make your death slow and painful” gave me chills.

This is the turning point your entire arc has been building toward.
Trini just became the **true MVP**.

What happens next? Does she finish Drakkon? Does Kimberly wake up? Does the Resistance rally around the woman who just dethroned the tyrant?

I’m on the edge of my seat. Keep it coming. 🐅⚔️

Posted

OH NO! This just went from bad to apocalyptic! Trini beat Kimberly but now has to face DRAKKON himself while exhausted! And Venom's identity reveal to the Resistance is happening simultaneously! This is INTENSE!

**Analysis:**

**Trini Kwan (Yellow Ranger w/ Dragon Armor) advantages:**
- **Dragon Armor**: Enhanced defense and power
- **Maternal rage**: Fighting with pure vengeance for Minh
- **Free will**: No longer mind-controlled
- **Power Daggers + Dragon Dagger**: Dual weapon options
- **Nothing to lose**: "Drag you down to Hell with me" mentality
- **Righteous fury**: Moral high ground fuels her

**Lord Drakkon advantages:**
- **29 years as universal conqueror**: Elite combat experience
- **Sword of Darkness**: Evil-empowered weapon, can corrupt/control others
- **Full Green Ranger powers**: Dragon Shield, enhanced strength
- **Dragon Dagger (his own)**: Can summon Dragonzord (though unlikely in this fight)
- **Fresh and uninjured**: Hasn't fought today
- **Trini is exhausted**: Just finished brutal fight with Kimberly
- **Superior training**: Trained by both Zordon AND 29 years of warfare
- **Home advantage**: Moon Palace is his territory
- **Tactical genius**: Conquered multiple worlds
- **Cold and calculating**: No emotional weaknesses
- **Backup available**: Could summon reinforcements if desperate

**The Winner: Lord Drakkon 8/10**

This is tragically one-sided despite Trini's advantages. Here's the brutal truth:

**Why Drakkon wins:**

1. **Exhaustion factor** - Trini JUST fought a brutal battle with Kimberly. She's breathing heavily, likely injured, and emotionally drained. Drakkon is completely fresh.

2. **Power gap** - Drakkon has conquered the UNIVERSE. He's defeated countless Power Rangers over 29 years, including Rangers far more experienced than Trini. He's in a completely different tier.

3. **Sword of Darkness** - This isn't just a weapon - it's an evil artifact that can corrupt and control. It enhances Drakkon's already formidable abilities and could potentially re-enslave Trini if he gets a solid hit.

4. **Combat experience** - 29 years of active combat vs. Trini who was mind-controlled most of that time. The skill gap is enormous.

5. **Emotional control** - Trini's fighting with rage and grief. Drakkon's cold, calculating, and tactical. He'll exploit her emotional state.

6. **Physical condition** - Dragon Armor or not, Trini just took damage from Kimberly. Drakkon is at 100%.

**Trini's only paths to victory (20%):**

1. **Berserker breakthrough** - Her grief and rage push her to superhuman levels, overwhelming Drakkon through sheer ferocity before he can react

2. **Drakkon underestimates her** - He's arrogant ("Old Yeller" comment), might not take her seriously, creates an opening

3. **Interference** - Someone interrupts (Kimberly wakes up freed from mind control, Olivia arrives and has to choose, etc.)

4. **Mutual destruction** - She succeeds in her promise to "drag him to Hell" - both die

**Most likely outcome:**
- Trini attacks with fury, lands some solid blows initially
- Drakkon weathers the storm, analyzes her fighting style
- Exhaustion catches up to Trini mid-fight
- Drakkon systematically dismantles her defense
- Critical moment: Drakkon disarms her, gives "final villain speech"
- Either:
  - **Kills Trini** (dark timeline continues)
  - **Re-enslaves her with Sword of Darkness** (tragic irony)
  - **Captures her** (for later execution/leverage)
  - **Interrupted before finishing blow** (saves Trini but leaves conflict unresolved)

**Narrative consideration**: Trini dying here would be dramatically satisfying (tragic hero's sacrifice) but also removes a major character. Her re-enslavement would be cruelly ironic. Her capture creates future rescue mission stakes.

**Rating: 5/5**

PHENOMENAL setup! The parallel storylines (Venom's reveal + Trini vs Drakkon) create incredible tension. Trini defeating Kimberly shows her power, but facing Drakkon exhausted is a suicide mission that demonstrates her commitment. Drakkon's callousness ("Old Yeller") is perfectly evil. The resistance discovering Venom's true identity while this death match happens adds layers of drama. Minh's emotional breakdown realizing her father betrayed her is heartbreaking. This is absolutely elite storytelling with real stakes and consequences!

Posted

This is a big escalation in your arc. You’ve moved from team battles to a very personal final-boss style fight, which is great storytelling pacing. Let’s break the matchup down.

⚔️ The Matchup

🟡 Trini Kwan — Yellow Ranger with Dragon Armor

The Dragon Armor gives Trini several major advantages:

Abilities

Significant durability boost

Energy projection from the Dragon Dagger

Enhanced strength and defense

Battle experience as an MMPR Ranger

Current condition

Emotionally enraged over Minh’s death

Just defeated Ranger Slayer Kimberly

Likely somewhat fatigued

That last part matters.

Lord Drakkon — Sword of Darkness

Drakkon is one of the most dangerous Power Rangers villains ever.

Advantages

Hybrid Green + White Ranger powers

Vast combat experience fighting Rangers

Ruthless strategist

Enhanced strength and energy projection

Sword of Darkness

Dark energy amplification

Extremely powerful melee weapon

Can overpower normal Ranger weapons

Symbolically tied to corrupted Ranger power

Drakkon is essentially a Ranger killer.

🧠 Tactical Breakdown

1️⃣ Experience Fighting Rangers

Drakkon has spent years killing or conquering Rangers across universes.

Trini is experienced, but Drakkon fights Rangers as his specialty.

Advantage: Drakkon

2️⃣ Equipment

Dragon Armor = strong defense
Sword of Darkness = extremely destructive offense

Defense vs offense.

The Sword of Darkness has historically overpowered Ranger weapons, so if it lands clean hits, it can break through armor.

Advantage: Drakkon

3️⃣ Fatigue Factor

Trini:

Just fought Ranger Slayer

Emotionally overwhelmed

Possibly drained

Drakkon:

Fresh

Calm

Calculating

This is a huge factor.

🔥 Likely Fight Scenario

Phase 1 – Rage Assault

Trini attacks aggressively, fueled by anger.

Dragon Dagger blasts and heavy melee pressure.

Drakkon initially defends.

Phase 2 – Drakkon Counters

Drakkon starts exploiting openings.

Sword of Darkness:

Blocks dagger strikes

Sends dark energy waves

Forces Trini on defense

Phase 3 – Power Gap

Eventually Drakkon’s experience and power start showing.

He lands several heavy hits that damage the Dragon Armor.

Trini keeps fighting, but she’s slowing down.

🏆 Winner: Lord Drakkon (High Difficulty)

Trini gives him a serious fight.

But Drakkon is:

More powerful

More experienced

Not exhausted

If Trini had fought him fresh, the result might be closer.

Rating: 4.5 / 5

Why it’s strong:

Emotional stakes
Character-driven conflict
Good power escalation
Clear villain boss fight

The only reason it isn’t a perfect 5 is because Drakkon vs a fatigued Trini feels slightly predictable.

Still an excellent setup.

👍 Arc note:
The reveal scene with you explaining your identity to the Resistance is a really good tension builder. That’s the kind of moment that can split teams apart later.

If you want, I can also tell you:

Who the strongest character left in the dome is

Which fight in your arc has been the best so far

Who could realistically defeat Drakkon next

Your CBUB arc is getting pretty epic.
