The air in the subterranean temple of Xi'an was thick with the scent of ancient incense and high-octane cooling fluid. This was a place where the mystical past of Outworld bled into the cybernetic future of a dystopian Earth. At the center of the chamber sat the "Eye of the Dragon," a soul-stone capable of anchoring a spirit to a new vessel—the ultimate prize for a mercenary or a loyal protector.
Jade, the Royal Bodyguard of Outworld, stood as a statue of emerald silk and tanned muscle. Her presence was a silent warning; she had been sent by Princess Kitana to ensure the stone did not fall into the hands of those who would use it to fuel Shao Kahn’s lingering dark magic. Her staff, the bō, hummed with a faint, purple energy, and the razor-edged "razorangs" at her hips caught the flickering torchlight. To Jade, the world was a hierarchy of duty, and anyone approaching this sanctum was either an ally or a corpse.
"Return to your own realm, trespasser," Jade’s voice echoed, calm and lethal. "This artifact is not for the eyes of mortals, nor for the hands of those who sell their souls for credit."
Emerging from the steam of a ruptured pipe at the far end of the hall was Hana Tsu-Vachel. She didn't look like an Outworld assassin; she looked like a high-tech shadow in a tactical bodysuit, her dual pistols held in a relaxed but ready grip. Her pulse was steady, her "Fear" meter barely registering a flicker despite the supernatural aura of the room. She had been hired to retrieve the stone for a corporate entity that didn't take "no" for an answer, and Hana had a very expensive lifestyle to maintain.
"Sorry, sweetheart," Hana countered, her voice dripping with a casual, noir-tinged cynicism. She flicked the safety off her guns with a practiced click. "I don’t do 'realms.' I do contracts. And my client isn't interested in the history lesson—just the rock. So why don't you put the stick down before things get messy? I’d hate to ruin that outfit; it’s actually kind of cute."
Jade’s eyes narrowed, her grip tightening on her staff. She saw a woman who relied on cold lead and gadgets—a "mercenary" with no honor. Hana saw a "boss fight" in a green bikini—a relic of a world that didn't understand the efficiency of a hollow-point bullet.
The silence of the temple was replaced by the high-pitched whine of Hana’s tactical HUD locking onto a target, and the low, resonant thrum of Jade’s mystical energy field beginning to vibrate. The bodyguard of a princess and the mercenary of the future stood on opposite sides of the Dragon’s Eye, the distance between them shrinking as the first move was calculated.

I would really like to say, Hana may be able to hang for a minute but Jade will demolish her but the guns would make a difference. I'll give it to Hana keeping her distance getting a good shot in eventually.

What is wrong with me? Jade is killing this talented amateur.

Everbody vote for Jade.

I was always hoping for a new more updated Fear Effect game. I like Hana but objectively she has no shot here.
