JohnnyChany Posted September 7 Read Aloud Posted September 7 On the sands of Korriban, the throne of Darth Krayt loomed over the chamber of the One Sith. Before him knelt Darth Talon, her scarlet skin and black tattoos gleamed with sweat from hours of ritual combat. She bowed her head but kept her gaze up, eager to hear his command. Krayt’s voice was a low growl.“A ripple trembles in the Force. Far from this planet, yet it calls. A child, unshaped… strong enough to be forged into our weapon.” Talon tilted her head with a strong curiosity behind her scowl. “How far? A world beyond the Republic’s reach?” “Yes.” Krayt’s lips parted to reveal his yellowed teeth. “An insignificant planet called Earth. But the boy, himself, is not insignificant. I have foreseen him. If left free, he could be turned by the Jedi…or worse, become something neither Sith nor Jedi could command.” His clawed hand lifted. “You will go. Find the child. Break all who stand in your way.” Talon rose gracefully; her red lightsaber flashed to life in salute. “It will be done, my master.” Light years away, Charles Xavier removed the helmet of Cerebro with a troubled expression. He wheeled away from the massive dome of glowing circuits. His mind was troubled by the strange pulse he had felt. Not a mutant… but something. Something raw and bright. “Betsy,” his voice whispered, not aloud, but directly into the mind of Elizabeth Braddock. Psylocke froze mid-training exercise with her katana raised against a holographic opponent. She shut her eyes. “Yes, Professor?” “I’ve sensed something unusual,” Xavier replied telepathically. “A boy in Maldon, Essex. Cerebro can’t classify him…he may not be mutant at all. But the potential is… staggering. He radiates with power.” Betsy furrowed her brow. “Power like mine?” “Power unlike anything I’ve felt on this Earth,” Xavier admitted. “It’s important we reach him first. You are the closest and know the town well. If left unguided… others may find him. Others who would not nurture, but corrupt.” Psylocke lowered her blade and dismissed the training hologram. “You want me to make contact.” “Yes. Speak with him. Protect him if needed. If he is willing, bring him to the school. His future must be guided, not exploited.” A faint smile appeared on Psylocke’s lips. “Don’t worry, Charles. I’ll keep him safe.” The boy’s laughter carried through the streets of Maldon, soft and harmless, like any other child playing in the fading light of dusk. To anyone watching, he was ordinary: a mop-haired ten-year-old bouncing a ball against a wall. But both Charles Xavier and Darth Krayt’s One Sith knew better. Within him burned an unusual current of power, raw, untamed, and bright enough to attract the attention of anyone with the power to notice. Psylocke walked silently down the street, her dark purple hair tied back, and her coat buttoned against the chill. She dressed casually to not startle the boy. As she drew closer, she could feel it, like a subtle vibration in the back of her mind. The boy wasn’t a mutant, not exactly, but something shimmered in his aura that almost gave her pause. She approached carefully, “Hi there,” she said gently, crouching a few feet away. “That’s quite an arm you’ve got. What’s your name?” The boy looked up, shy but polite. “Michael.” “Michael,” Psylocke repeated. “I’m Betsy. I’d like to talk to you, if that’s alright. I—” The air shifted in such a way that stopped Psylocke mid-sentence. The boy froze; his ball rolled into the gutter. Psylocke’s eyes darted toward a nearby alley. From the shadows between two houses stepped a woman clad in crimson tattoos, her skin bare except for ritualistic markings, her eyes had a sulfurous yellow glow. A red lightsaber in her hand ignited with a hungry hiss. “Step away from the child,” Darth Talon demanded. “He belongs to the Sith.” Psylocke rose to her feet and straightened her shoulders. “Funny. Charles sent me to make sure he wasn’t taken in by any devious appearing individuals. I would say you match that bill.” Psylocke’s psychic katana shimmered into being in her hand, the violet light stood in contrast to the crimson glow of Talon’s light saber. “Pathetic Earthling. Move aside, and you may live to see another day,” Talon threatened. “Not happening. I don’t take orders from space witches,” Psylocke countered. Talon tilted her head; her lips curled into a smile. “You’re no Jedi… but I sense your mind burns brightly. Strong. Dangerous.” Psylocke stood firm. She was able to pull images from Talon’s mind, and none of them were good. The boy whimpered and stepped back. Psylocke angled herself between him and Talon, her psychic blade pulsed brighter. Talon’s chuckle was low and predatory. “You don’t understand. This child carries the potential to reshape the galaxy. We will mold him into a weapon of the Dark Side. You cannot stop destiny.” “Destiny?” Psylocke shot back. “I’ve heard tyrants and creeps use that word before. In the end, they all bled the same.” The Sith Assassin’s smirk faded into a snarl. She extended her free hand, and a sudden surge of invisible power lashed out. The ball at Michael’s feet burst apart, fragments scattered across the asphalt. The boy gasped. Psylocke gritted her teeth. A translucent psychic barrier shimmered into place and blocked the aftershock before it could reach him. Talon regarded her with interest. "You resist the Force?” “It’s called telekinesis. But whatever you name it, you’re not the only one who can play tricks with the mind.” Psylocke unveiled her katana and positioned herself in a ready stance. “But I prefer steel to mind games.” Talon twirled her red blade. It hummed in a deadly rhythm as she advanced. “Then let us see if your mind and body are as sharp as your tongue.” “You’ll find me harder to break than a frightened child,” Psylocke said evenly. “Then you’ll die first.” Talon leapt forward, her saber raised high. The fight for Michael’s fate had begun.

Boratz Posted September 7 Read Aloud Posted September 7 Oh cool, I've been wanting to use Darth Talon but I've been struggling on who to pit her against. Nice job!
leroypowell3 Posted September 8 Read Aloud Posted September 8 Not sure who to go for here. Jedi-Sith are some of the few standard not vulnerable to telepathy. I'm well aware that that power is no a part of The Force but still all these guys minds are trained so it Psylocke will be reduced down to physical which she's no slouch. But will Darth Talon's force enhancements she should dominate a physical clash. I think I'll go with the Sith. Betsy could do it but it more in Darth Talon's favor.

That's funny because she has been on my list for a while as well and I likewise wasn't sure who to match her up against. I had gone through a few different possibilities before really liking the matchup with Psylocke.
