"We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to make you aware of an important issue that is affecting many around the world today. Hi, my name is Boratz and I want to present a program to you that was prepared by many individuals that you may remember from your childhoods. A few of you may remember that years ago, the Cartoon All-Stars gathered for the single purpose of helping a young man during a time of drug and alcohol abuse. The struggles that he faced were too much for one person the bare, and that is when the Cartoon All-Stars came to bring a sense of relief. The presentation that I want to show you is not about the dangers of alcohol or drug abuse, but something else entirely. Peace, hope, imagination, and child-like wonder are being threatened with each passing day. The rights to opinions and freedoms are being threatened. Ou......"

"AHAHAHA! Give it a rest, you little sanctimonious bitch! AHAHAHA!"

"I am sorry, I think we might be getting some interference. Please stand by while we take this opportunity to try and address the issue."

"There is no interference. This is my prime-time hour, bitch!"

"Wait, who said that? Who is there?"

"You are not in some shitty Saturday morning cartoon special! AHAHAHA! You are stuck with me!"

"Who... Who are you?!"

"You are in my world now, bitch! I am your host and your nightmare! Come to Freddy!"

"We are not afraid of you! Michael and Corey are not afraid of you!"

"AHAHAHAHA! The only thing to fear, is me! Freddy is here, and I got so much to do! Growing up is a bitch, and then you all die!"

The television screen in the living room started to flicker before it went completely dark. Michael started to shiver as a cold chill ran down his spine while his heart raced. He pushed himself up from his recliner and slowly made his way toward that television screen that was sitting on top of his parents' media stand. Kneeling to the control box on the television, Michael started pushing the knobs in hopes that he could find another channel. Every channel that he found was of the same grizzly image of that nightmarish creature with burnt skin. In a final effort to be rid of that badly burnt maniac, Michael tried turning off the television completely. Once the screen turned black and he could see his reflect, Michael closed his eyes and let out a steady sigh of relief. His heartbeat started to slow as he started a breathing exercise that he was taught in a recent therapy session.

Opening his eyes, he looked back at that dark screen on the television set. With only a split second, Michael jumped back as quickly as he could. Within the dark screen, he saw a clawed hand coming straight at him. The blades busted through the screen and shards of the television screen fell around the young teenager. He started panting as his heart started beating even faster than before. His skin was cold, but lines of sweat ran down his head. He then watched as that burnt figure climbed out of his parents' television set and stood up tall in his living room. Michael's eyes were wide as he looked upon the nightmarish creature that had come out of his screen. The young teenager was at a loss for words as he was overcome by fear. With what strength he could muster, the teenager started pushing himself away from the burnt monster that was before him. Breathing heavily and panting, the teenager turned back to see if he could find something to help him escape the terrifying creature. All the while, he could hear the burnt man laughing.

"What is the matter, champ? Cat got your tongue!" Freddy mocked while reaching into his tattered dark pants.

The burnt figured pulled something out and threw it down at the young teenager. Michael let out a gasp as he looked over a bloodied tongue landing next to his side. The young teenager closed his eyes tight before letting out a blood-curdling scream. Instantly, Michael felt a couple hands grabbing onto his arms. He kicked and he screamed while struggling to break free from the tight grips. Suddenly, he opened his eyes and saw his parents trying to calm him down. Michael was able to stand up and stumbled back against a wall. A cold sweat came over him as he started breathing heavily. His mom and dad looked on with worried looks as they tried to steadily approach their young son.

"What is it, Michael? Are you okay?" His dad asked while putting out his hand.

"One moment, you fell asleep on the couch then the next moment, you were screaming." His mom said with a worried tone.

"It..." Michael paused before thinking over what all had transpired. "It was just a nightmare."

"You had us worried, champ." His dad replied.

Hearing those words, Michael shot a questionable look at his dad. "Wh... What did you say?"

"You had us worried." His mom interjected while gently grabbing Michael's shoulder.

"No... No... What did you call me?" Michael asked while looking at his dad.

"Champ... I've called you that since.... Well, since before you could crawl." His dad said with a dumbfounded expression.

"It is probably nothing." Michael said while shaking his head. "I may just need a glass of water."

"Sure, I will go get it for you." His dad said before heading to the kitchen.

Michael's mom smiled while looking at him with those warm maternal eyes that brought him comfort when he was younger.

"We are so proud of how far you have come." She said while gently rubbing his shoulder. "I know that this move has not been easy, but you are stronger than you realize."

Michael patted his mom's hand before turning to look out the window. Looking over the neighbor's houses, his gaze moved toward the street sign on the corner of the road. He saw the name Elm Street before hearing his dad approaching with the glass of water. Michael reached back for the glass of water and took a sip. He closed his eyes while taking a few calming breaths.

"One, two, Freddy's coming for you. Three, four, better lock your door. Five, six, grab your crucifix. Seven, eight, gonna stay up late. Nine, ten, never sleep again..." Michael's younger sister, Corey sang while playing with a stuffed animal of Winnie the Pooh.

Michael's eyes shot open as they slowly turned toward Corey.

"Where did you hear that?" Michael asked suspiciously.

"What?" Corey asked while turning to look at her brother.

"Where did you hear that song?" Michael asked while started to feel that same sense of dread come over him once again.

"I... I don't know... I think I heard it from some kids."

"WHERE?" Michael yelled.

"HEY! Hey, maybe it is time you head to bed, champ!" Michael's dad said with a commanding voice.

"Yeah, you have had a long day." Michael's mom added. "Are you sure you do not need one of us to stay home tonight?"

Michael shook his head and reassured both of his parents that he was alright. Despite being worried about their son, Michael and Corey's parents had to leave for work as they were covering the night shifts at their jobs. After making sure that both of their children were alright, the parents left them behind under Michael's watch. After putting his sister to bed, Michael headed to his bedroom. Once he walked inside, he sauntered over toward his bed. Before sitting down on his bed, the young teenager started glancing around at several items that were sprawled throughout the room. Sitting on his nightstand, he saw a comic book of the Smurfs. Michael reached over for that comic and looked down at the artwork paint on the cover. Taking a deep breath and letting out a steady sigh, the young teenager gazed over the image of Papa Smurf.

"I need you... I need you, Papa Smurf..." Michael said while pressing the comic against his chest. He then looked over the other items in the room. Looking over at an image of Alf in a picture frame and Garfield in a lamp, Michael started feeling at ease. He stood up from his bed to look over the image of Alvin and the Chipmunks on a records sleep and Kermit the Frog on an alarm clock next to that Smurf's comic book. An action figure of Michelangelo and Peter Venkman from the Real Ghostbusters sat on his bed. Michael nodded before rubbing his hands against his face.  "I need all of you, guys! I need your help like you helped me before."

Suddenly, Papa Smurf emerged from the pages of that comic book that sat on his nightstand. He, along with several other Smurfs jumped down onto Michael's bed.

"We never left your side, laddy." Papa Smurf said with assurance.

"So, what's up, doc? What seems to be the issue?" Bugs Bunny asked while leaning against the closet door.

"There's something..." Michael paused while thinking about the monster that was after him in his nightmares. "There is something after me! In my nightmares!"

"Who is that?" Alf asked while reaching over to push Garfield to wake up.

"He said his name is Freddy... Freddy Krueger." Michael replied as he started to shiver.

The Cartoon All-Stars gasped as they looked up in shock.

"Oh, brother." Winnie the Pooh said with worry. "He is going to call down a heffalump!"

"Don't none of you get to worryin'!" Baloo from Talespin said with a large grin. "We will take care of you, champ!" The large bear said while throwing his paw around Michael.

"I think he is after Corey, too." Michael said with a panic.

"We will take care of her too, little man! We are lean, we are not all green, but we are mean!" Michelangelo exclaimed.

"Yeah, we will wait right here in this nice and cozy bed." Peter Venkman said while laying back in Michael's bed.

Looking down at the sleeping Ghostbuster, Garfield jumped down on top of Peter's stomach. Peter let out a grunt while looking at the large, orange cat.

"Hey, what is the big idea?" Peter asked.

"You sound familiar..." Garfield replied before curling up against Michael's pillow. "You must hate Mondays, too!"

Before Peter could respond; Papa Smurf, Mickey Mouse, and Alf stood before the Cartoon-All Stars.

"We don't have long; we need to find a way to rescue Michael and Corey from this wretched being!" Papa Smurf commanded.

"There are more of us here this time than there were before. We need to spread out and make sure that this house is protected!" Alf added.

"From what I can gather, this Freddy attacks you in your dreams. We are going to have to get him out of the dream world and get him far away from here." Brainy Smurf said while adjusting his glasses.

"Well, if know if half the battle, then we certainly have half of this battle won!" Flint from the G.I. Joes said while crossing his arms over his chest.

Michael watched as some of the Cartoon All-Stars started making their way throughout the house. A couple of the other Cartoon All-Stars headed outside of the outside to patrol the neighborhood. While hopeful that the Cartoon All-Stars could protect him and his sister from the evil clutches of Freddy Krueger, Michael hesitantly climbed into his bed. He looked over at Peter Venkman sitting on a chair in the corner of his room. Garfield was perched in his lap while his Proton pack sat quietly next to his chair. Huey, Dewey, and Louie walked around alongside the jacket wearing Baloo. Alvin and the Chipmunks waited outside the room alongside Mickey Mouse.

There it was, this house in the middle of the neighborhood. A house that sat off the infamous neighborhood of Elm Street. Early on, I told you that a presentation would be in store that included the Cartoon All-Stars. These All-Stars span from fond childhood memories to countless Saturday adventures. Cartoon All-Stars new and old have banded together once again. The question is, will it be enough? This story is that of what was and is to come from early childhood dreams to the nightmares of adulthood.

As you read this, it is up to you to decide if the Cartoon All-Stars can protect young Michael and his sister, Corey from the nightmarish Freddy Krueger.

It is up to you to decide if the innocence of childhood heroes can defeat the nightmarish enemies of adulthood.

Nice to see the Cartoon All-Stars in their first match. I think they could pull a win here. I also give the match a 5.0.

Very creative and fun setup, Boratz. I feel like at the end the reader is being possibly shamed for sentencing innocent children to their death if they vote for Freddy. I'm voting fot the cartoon all-stars anyway. Some may struggle, but there is no way Freddy is going to out crazy Bugs with his attacks,

Very cool battle and write-up Boratz. I’ll give it a 5/5 stars.

I unironically think the toons can win this, mostly cause they’re toon force abilities are more versatile and can work in the real world and as shown in the special, while inside a kid’s mind as well, meaning Freddy won’t be as in control as he believes.
