The crowd inside The Pond arena were being whipped into a frenzy.  The score was tied at 2 between the Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks with time winding down.  Grin slammed a pair of players into the boards while Mallory shot the puck over to Nosedive.  “Game winner coming up!  Courtesy of everybody’s favorite duck yours truly!”

“Aw quit yapping and score!” yelled Tanya.

“You’re wish is my command, Tanya!”

“Whoa!” shouted the arena announcer.  “Look at Nosedive go!  Cutting through the Chicago defense!  If he scores this game is over!”

The Ducks manager Phil Palmfeather punched the air as the crowd roared.  “There’s my ducks!  Look at ‘em go!”

Nosedive’s stick struck the puck and at the same time the ice was enveloped by a flash of light.  When everyone’s vision had cleared the puck was in the Blackhawk’s net and the Duck’s were nowhere to be seen.

“Hey!” said Phil in confusion.  “Where did they go?!”

At that moment outside of a naval base, the Road Rovers sat on lawn chairs as a gang of would-be terrorists fled for their lives from Muzzle.  The cano-sapiens read magazines as their ferocious ally snapped and clawed at the enemy, leaving them battered, bruised, and in torn remnants of their camo gear.

“Blimey!  I barely got to kick anyone’s tail in that fight,” grumbled Colleen.

“Relax, Colleen,” said Hunter.  “We haven’t let Muzzle loose in the last 3 missions.  He’s earned the right to let off some steam.”

Exile glanced up as the terrorists ran to the gates of the base they had attempted to takeover now to surrender.  “Steam?  Huh.  That dog is a one canine Chernobyl!”

Hunter looked down at his watch.  “Well, I think that’s enough.  We wouldn’t want people to say we have too much violence on this show.”

The Rovers raced over to Muzzle, who gave a sigh of contentment and a belch.  “Hope you enjoyed your playtime,” muttered Blitz as he re-attached Muzzle’s muzzle and strapped him back to his cart.

“Mission accomplished, Rovers!” cried Hunter.  “To the power of the pack!”

The Rovers all howled to the sky, only to disappear in a flash of light.

The Primate Avenger flew through the vacuum of space.  As Dr. Splitz tinkered with a control panel and Shao Lin meditated in a corner, Spydor chatted with Gor.

“I’m telling you, big guy, there’s nothing like a good plantain.  I once got my hands on a whole crateful, and I lived like King Kong for a week.”

Splitz glared back at the two monkeys.  “If you don’t mind, I am attempting to improve our navigational systems, and your loquacious conversing is making it nigh impossible to complete my task!”  The orangutan twitched and his other personality Splitzy took over.  “Yeah!  And you’re making me hungry!”

Shao Lin kept her eyes closed as she attempted to ignore her crewmates.  “The path to true enlightenment would be much smoother in silence.”

Suddenly alarms began to blare, bringing Captain Simian to the bridge.  “Orbitron!  Report!”

The metal orb hovered around Simian.  “Sensor’s have detected a signal being directed at the ship.  It is very powerful and minty fresh!”

Simian rolled his eyes.  “Gotta get that thing fixed.  Splitz!  I need more info on that signal!”

“The readings are off the scale, captain.  It appears to be a dimensional shift enabling transport across intergalactic distances!”

Spydor jumped into his seat on the bridge.  “English, doc?”

Splitz shifted to Splitzy again.  “We’re about to go on a road trip!”

A flash of light and the five monkeys and their small robot had vanished.

On the bridge of the Raptor Lord Nebula and Rhesus 2 shot suspicious glances at General Parvo and Groomer.  The viewscreen was focused on a barren looking planet.

“To think that I must align with such primitive creatures to accomplish my goal of destroying that wretched Simian!” Nebula wheezed.

“Have a care, Nebula!” snapped Parvo.  “Or I shall finish you as soon as we defeat the Road Rovers!”  Parvo’s ranting turned to a hacking cough, leading Groomer to hand him lozenge.  “Don’t strain yourself, general.  Our allies are necessary for us to ensure the destruction of all of our enemies.”

Rhesus 2 stroked his exposed brain and leered at Groomer.  “Very diplomatic, my dear.  I would love to have a piece of your mind.”

“Don’t even try it, Rhesus.”

The doors of the bridge opened, and Lord Dragaunus and his entourage entered.  Wraith, Siege, and Chameleon looked on as their leader addressed the four villains.

“As anticipated my improved dimensional gateway had no difficulty capturing our feathered and furry foes.  And now the game can truly begin!”

“Game?” said Rhesus.  “If we have all of those heroes trapped on that planet let’s teleport down and destroy them!”

Siege stomped towards Nebula’s henchman.  “Yeah?  If you could do that you wouldn’t be coming to Lord Dragaunus for help!”

“I wouldn’t need help to find out for sure how small your dinosaur brain really is!”

“Enough, Rhesus!” snapped Lord Nebula.

“The same goes for you, Siege!” hissed Dragaunus, smoke rising from his nostrils.  He turned back to Nebula and Parvo.  “The simple fact is that the Ducks, the Rovers, and the Space Monkeys have managed to defeat us again and again.  Who better to defeat a hero than a hero?  We trap them in the maze I have constructed on that lifeless rock, and we allow them to destroy themselves for us!  And if all else fails, the instability of this dimension will cause it to collapse in 23 minutes, ensuring the destruction of those meddling mallards, convoluted canines, and problematic primates.”

“It all sounds fine, Lord Dragaunus,” said Parvo.  “But how can you be so sure that these heroes will fight each other?”

“I assure you, general,” smirked Dragaunus as he glanced at Chameleon.  “Don’t assume that our adversaries are too noble to brawl amongst themselves.  They just require the proper… motivation.”

“Hunter!  Shag!  Comrades, where are you?!”

Exile’s voice echoed against the obsidian walls of the maze he, Colleen, and Muzzle found themselves.

“Hey, Fluffypants!” shouted Colleen.  “Come out, come out wherever you are!”  The collie looked concerned at Exile.  “I hope nothing’s happened to that dopey Doberman.”

“Holy St. Petersburg!  Don’t tell me you are worried about Blitz,” said Exile.

“Nah, I just don’t want to housebreak in a whole new Road Rover.”

Muzzle began to snarl fiercely and Exile and Colleen looked up to see a man-sized chimpanzee standing before them.  He smiled arrogantly at the three dogs.

“Welcome, Rovers, to your new home!”

Colleen went into a fighting stance.  “Personally, don’t care much for the décor, love.”

“Just who are you supposed to be being, monkey man?” growled Exile.

“I am Captain Simian, leader of the Space Monkeys, and I have been hired by a dear friend of yours to put you dogs down for good.  My crew is already dealing with your friends, and I’ll take care of you myself.  Oh by the way, General Parvo sends his regards.”

Exile’s eyes glowed blue.  “Parvo sent you!  Then we’ll send you back to him!  In litter box!”

Simian ducked out of the way and around a corner as Exile fired his ice vision.  Colleen removed Muzzle’s muzzle.  “He wants to play rough?  Then let’s show ‘em!  Muzzle ‘em!”

Muzzle leapt free and tore down the corridor after Simian.  The captain, however, was beginning to shift back into the form of Chameleon.  He spoke into a communicator as he heard the sound of Muzzle in the distance.  “Lord Dragaunus!  Lord Dragaunus!  I’ve got the Rovers after me!  Teleport me out of here, or I’m dog food!”

“Stop your whining, Chameleon!  Continue down this corridor!  The Rovers will follow Simian’s scent right to him.  Initializing teleport… Now!”

Meanwhile, a trio of Space Monkey’s stood in front of a computer panel in the maze.  “Can you make heads or tails out of this, doc?” asked Spydor.  “Of course, I can,” huffed Splitz.  “I’ve accessed the security logs for this structure.  Apparently, it was manufactured by a group of anthropomorphic waterfowl calling themselves… the Mighty Ducks?”

“Ducks?” asked Gor in confusion.

“For once I’m confused as you, big guy,” said Spydor.

“Hey!  Don’t blame me!  I just read the goldarn thing!  If you don’t mind, I’ll read it!  Ahem.  The Mighty Ducks are denizens of another dimension where ducks are the dominant lifeform.  And hockey the national past time!  Don’t ask me how that works out!”

“Pull it together, Splitz!” Spydor interrupted as he climbed up onto Gor’s shoulder.  “Can you use this gizmo to find where Chuck and Shao Lin are?”

Spitz pressed a few buttons on the panel and frowned.  “Oh dear.  It appears they have been captured by the Ducks.  They intend to deliver them to Lord Nebula for a price.  Which means it’s high time for jailbreak!”

“You heard Splitz, Gor!” said Spydor to the giant gorilla.  “The captain’s in trouble!”

Gor’s eyes flashed red and the strongest of the space monkeys smashed the panel and charged into the maze, with Spydor struggling to hold on to him and Splitz running to catch up.  “I can’t abide such a disrespect for technology!  Oh hush your mouth and get a move on!  We’re going on a duck hunt!”

“And just who are you people anyway?”

In another part of the maze a standoff was in progress.  Hunter, Blitz, and Shag stood across from Mallory McMallard, Duke L’Orange, and Nosedive Flashblade.  Shag stood hunched behind Blitz and whined in fear as Duke activated his Ducksaber.

“Maybe you should make the introductions, seeing how you’re the ones who teleported us here.”

“Hey!  We got dognapped here ourselves!” said Hunter.

“Oh yeah?” said Mallory.  “Well, all I know is that 3 of my teammates are missing.  If you’ve hurt them…”

“I’m telling you we haven’t!  We’re good dogs!  All of us!”

“Oh brother!” groaned Nosedive.  “To think we have to share our show with these losers.”

Blitz extended his claws and bared his teeth.  “YOUR show?  What are you talking about?  This is OUR show, birdy boy!”

“Yeah right!  A show about talking dogs?  Please!  Probably wouldn’t last 13 episodes!”

“That does it!  Time to commence with the biting!”

Blitz lunged for Nosedive and Duke leapt in front of him to deliver a kick.  Hunter used his speed to shove Duke out of the way and Mallory opened fire with her puck blaster.  Shag gave a disappointed whimper and pulled out a bazooka from his fur.

“Excellent!” cackled Lord Dragaunus, watching the battles with his allies on the Raptor.  “Our enemies shall destroy themselves for us!  And then, nothing in this universe will stand in our way!”

OK:

Mighty Ducks: Wildwing, Nosedive, Mallory, Tanya, Grin, and Duke.

Road Rovers: Hunter, Blitz, Colleen, Shag, Exile, and Muzzle.

Space Monkeys, Captain Simian, Spydor, Shao Lin, Orbitron, Gor, and Splitz.

They are all armed with their handheld weaponry.

They start off separated and will eventually battle together in the center of the maze.

They have 20 minutes before the dimension they are in collapses.

Last team standing wins.

Game On!

THE BOTTOM LINE

Hey, guys!  It's your main mallard and favorite member of the Mighty Ducks Nosedive!

Soooo my buddy broadway was needing a break from the whole "put people together and make them fight" thing, so he let me be in charge of the recap.

Not all that much to tell.  Me and the rest of the Ducks kicked the tailfeathers of those dogs and monkeys.  Then all the brainiacs put their eggheads together to use the tech in the maze to get us all home.  Not a surprise when the Ducks have yours truly to lead the charge!

...

I guess Wildwing did a good job talking everybody down too.  I was really looking forward to a bigger fight, but hey, that's what you get when try to step to the Ducks!

Well, I better get going, practice starts in an hour!  Just one other thing: keep circulating the tapes!  We anthropomorphic superheroes have feelings too, ya know!

See ya!
