JohnnyChany
In a palace consumed by death and darkness, Emperor Ozom, the large imposing and grotesque demon lord with the skull face sat upon his twisted throne of bones. Lord Raptor, the once infamous rock star turned Ozom’s undead servant, stood before him. Raptor fidgeted impatiently with his guitar. Ozom's voice cut through the darkness. "Zabel Zarock, your recent conquests have been… disappointing. You were once a king among those mortals, a reaper of souls through your music. But lately, you have failed to deliver the requisite amount of souls that I require." Raptor grinned and then strummed a few discordant notes on his guitar. “Don’t worry, mate. I’ve been workin’ on somethin’ special. A show that’ll make ‘em scream, y’know? I just need a bit more time.” Ozom’s clawed hand tightened on his throne’s armrest. “Time is not a luxury you possess. I want more souls. Go to the human world. Collect them. Or you will find yourself back in your grave, forgotten and powerless.” Lord Raptor’s grin widened so as not to betray his deep disdain for his master, Ozom. He planned to usurp him one day, but today was not that day. “Sure thing. I’ll give ‘em a string of shows they won’t forget.” Raptor shifted from his true zombie form into his human form before leaving Ozom’s throne room. He tightened the straps of his guitar and swung it across his back. Within days, Lord Raptor had quickly slipped back into the spotlight. He capitalized on the nostalgia for his old work before he had become a zombie. Night after night, he played to packed venues, the crowd’s energy fueled his dark magic. The more he played, the more souls he drained, and his powers grew with each wailing chord. On this particular night, the underground venue was packed to the rafters. Unbeknownst to Raptor there was a unique guest in attendance. It was a man with a denim jacket adorned with patches and spikes and a guitar slung over his back. It was Hobie Brown, better known as Spider-Punk. Hobie had heard the rumblings that something strange was going on at these concerts and he was unconvinced by Lord Raptor’s PR saying the rumors were being planted by the establishment to hold him down. Hobie needed to see for himself, also he was a fan of Lord Raptor’s early work before it switched his sound rom simple rebellious rock to something darker, almost more occult. Lord Raptor, in his human form, ripped through his setlist. He had the aura of a rock god and Hobie was enjoying the show. Then it happened. Lord Raptor launched into his grand finale. His fingers moved like lightning across the strings of his guitar, and his voice howled through the speakers. Dark energy began to swirl around the stage, and an eerie green glow emanated from Raptor’s eyes. Hobie’s Spider senses tingled. Something was wrong. A sickly fog spread from the stage and reached out to the audience. People began to sway with their eyes glazed over as the fog sucked their very life force away. Hobie quickly plugged his ears as he pushed through the crowd. He had to stop this. He wanted to get to the stage but the energy being summoned by Lord Raptor had swirled around it like an impenetrable shield. An idea came to Hobie and he found a loose aux cable near the stage. He connected his guitar and played it as loud as he could. The distortion of sound was enough to break Raptor’s concentration and the spell fell apart. As the fog dissipated, the crowd fell unconscious. Hobie pulled over his mask and jumped on stage. Lord Raptor’s security crew, made up of minions under Raptor’s control, attacked Hobie. Spider-Punk made quick work of them with a series of acrobatic flips and kicks. “Oi, Oi, what do you think you’re doing?” Lord Raptor demanded. “Those glowing green eyes block your vision, bruv?” Hobie asked sarcastically. “I’m putting a stop to whatever bollocks you got cooking here.” Lord Raptor twisted back into his ghastly and gangly zombie form. “You’ve lost the plot if you think you can hang with me, mate.”

Yeah, I figured Darkstalkers characters would be at the very least on par with typical Spiderman villains, if not a tier above. I think they are stronger than the usual Spidey villain which is what makes it a good challenge. And of course, the fact that they are both rockers was too good to pass up. Everybody in Spiderverse was written very well. I too think Darkstalkers are more powerful than Spiderman. Lord Raptor is one that Spiderpunk should be able to beat though.
